Chapter 03

There are only two reasons why people show concern for you. First, they might have loved you, and they don't want you to get hurt. Second, they might be just pretending to take advantage of your vulnerable phase to brighten up their image and get your trust, then later stab you from behind.

And I'm confused about where Dion Andrius belongs.

It was out of my mind that he'd fight against someone just for me.

The calm man I've met is gone. It's the other him. His fiery eyes flatter me knowing he's willing to fight for the sake of my being. But the other me is sad ... realizing he's going to hurt somebody.

I really don't like seeing men in rage. Men are strong. Their fist could kill person. Their strength could favor death more. And I don't like that.

I'm nervous hearing Lure laugh like a naughty pretty evil.

"Hindi mo girlfriend." He said, mocking Andrius' words.

"Hindi pa girlfriend. Nililigawan ko pa lang." Ani Andrius. Nagulat ako pero pilit ko iyong tinago.

No, he didn't clarify anything to me. It's not true. Huwag kang umasa Thalia. Huwag kang kiligin. He just said it to stop Lure from making his moves towards me.

"Asawa nga naaagaw. Girlfriend pa kaya?" Mapait na bigkas ni Lure.

"As if I will let you."

Lure raised his right brow. "Let's see," ngumiti muna ito sa akin bago tuluyang naglakad paalis.

Umalis kami sa small restau matapos ang tensyon kanina. Parang nabalot ng hangin ang tiyan ko sa kaba. I could still watch the scenes that had happened lately in my mind.

It was scaring me. Andrei was willing to wound his fist just for me. He would hurt somebody.

"Sa susunod ... hayaan mo na lang nila. Kung ganon talaga ang ugali nila, wala tayong magagawa kundi ang umiwas kaysa ang masabak pa sa gulo." Taimtim na basag ko sa katahimikan.

He sighed.

"I can't just let him. If we fail to make them realize what they did was wrong, uulitin nila iyon sa iba. We can do more for them. At least a discipline."

"But hurting people physically isn't a discipline."

"Yeah, I know. And sorry for what I've done just lately..."

"Good. 'Wag mo nang uulitin ang ginawa mo kanina. Flamed heads can do nothing but damage." Sagot ko.

"I can't promise I won't repeat it."

"Andrius."

"Thalia ... Have you ever experienced being bullied by someone before?" He sighed then sank his hand in his side pocket.

"Never?"

"Good to hear. And maybe that's the reason why you cannot see the good purpose of fighting back. It's all for the oppressed to win their back. To stop the endless power of the oppressors."

"Pero we could teach them in a nice way naman, you know." Rason ko.

"Okay?" He lifted a brow. "So what will you do if you once become the oppressed?" He asked.

"Isusumbong ko sila kay daddy."

He laughed at my answer. Nagniningning ang mga mata niya samantalang ang kaniyang labi ay nakaawang. Na para bang hindi niya alam kung matutuwa siya o hindi.

"You gotta be joking."

"No! It's not a joke! My dad has his power. Sasampahan nya sila ng kaso! Makukulong sila or ipapagmulta ng malaki! That would be a nice way to discipline them, not to hurt them back."
