"Gah!" You screamed in frustration, crumbling up your piece of paper and throwing it across the room, "I can't do it!"
Ponyboy, who was sitting at his desk, turned to you, "Yes you can. Just try again."
You sighed angrily, "I don't know why you keep making me do this. I'm not good at drawing."
Pony got up from his chair and laid on the floor besides you, "Let's try another strategy, alright?"
You didn't want to. I mean, sure you told Pony you wanted to learn how to draw but you had told him weeks ago that it didn't matter to you anymore. Still, he kept persisting that you keep going.
"What's the strategy?" You asked.
"Close your eyes." He tells you.
"Close my eyes?" You asked, "why do I need t-"
"Just close them." Pony insisted.
"Alright," you said as you closed your eyes, "now what?"
"What do you want in your future?" Ponyboy asked.
"What the?" You asked, totally lost, "how is this supposed to help me draw better?"
"Just say anything, it doesn't matter." Pony told you.
"Alright," You said, thinking about what it is you wanted, "the ocean during a sunset."
"Ok!" Ponyboy said excitedly, "now just imagine that for a little while, ok?"
You gave Pony a thumbs up and sat there for a good five minutes, imagining the sparkling water of the ocean during a sunset, until Ponyboy told you to open your eyes.
"Now draw it." He instructed.
"What?" You asked, "how am I supposed to-"
"Start small." Pony told you, "start with, I don't know, the sunset. Yeah, start with that."
"Well I can do that." You said confidently, "I can blend colors just fine."
Ponyboy handed you a set of oil pastels and together you two made a sunset, leaving space for the sun and ocean to go.
"Okay," you huffed, your fingers covered in colors, "What now?"
"Do the sun." Pony said.
So you did the sun, which was easy and didn't take you too long.
"It's ocean time, isn't it?" You asked, not excited for it.
Pony nodded and smirked, knowing your attitude towards it.
You started to draw the ocean, slowly and carefully, trying to match it to the one that was in your head. It didn't turn out great, even when you colored it, but you were proud of yourself.
"I knew you could do it!" Pony exclaimed.
You crept into Pony's arms, "Thanks for always believing in me."
"Of course, Y/N." Pony said, kissing you on the head.
Oh how you loved your Ponyboy.
