Book: Male Reader Imagines
Chapter 13: Model, Paradise Kiss
Word Count: 1012[name] was at the stove, stirring the pot of food and leaning down so the smell could waft into his nose. He smiled and signed in happiness. He was a damn good cook. He was preparing dinner because his boyfriend was coming over.
George had said he needed to talk to him about something but [name] hadn't taken it seriously. He figured it wasn't about anything important.
He continued to cook for another ten minutes before he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He looked away from the food and got out his phone.
BABE: i'm here, can you come downstairs.
He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Why would George want him to do down? There must be something up. Sending a quick text back that he was on his way, [name] left the food on the stove and exited his apartment.
It was rather old outside so he made sure to put on his thick coat before exiting. He went down the stairs and outside, seeing his beautiful boyfriend waiting by a cab. His confusion grew even more and he rushed over to him. "Do you need money for the cab or something? I left my wallet upstairs. Give me a moment."
George shook his head. "No. I don't need you to pay. He's waiting for me because he's taking me back home."
"I thought you were going to stay the night?"
"I'm not." George put his head down and took a deep breath. "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately... about me and you. We need to talk."
"What? Why do you sound like that?" [name] questioned with hesitance. George sounded so serious and the look in his eyes was putting the other male on edge.
"I can't do this anymore." George spoke.
The sentence sent shock waves through [name] and he stumbled back. His eyes going wide with fear. "What's this? What can't you do anymore?" He hoped and prayed George was insinuating what he thought. No, he couldn't. George loved him.
George could see what he was thinking and took a step back. "You know what I'm talking about. I want to be a model. You know that and I can't pursue my dreams if I'm with you. You're holding me back, [name]. I'll never get what I want as long as your around."
And for the first time in his life [name] felt the crushing weight of heart break in his chest. He had never had a boyfriend before, George had been his first and he had naively thought he would be his last. All those dreams came crashing down around him. "Stop saying those things. It's not funny."
"This isn't a joke. I'm breaking up with you. I don't want to but I have to. I hope you can understand that." George said softly as if he wasn't crushing [name] right then and there.
"Understand?! How am I supposed to understand?!" [name] snapped. "H - How am I holding you back? I've always supported you and I'll continue to support you. You don't need to do this." He was practically begging him not to leave him.
"You're making this harder then it needs to be." George sighed. "I've already made up my mind. If you can't accept that then... I don't know what to tell you." The cab driver beeped to hurry the wannabe model up and George held up his hand. "Just give me a few more moments." He looked back at [name]. "I have to go."
[name] stayed silent. This had to be some nightmare. This couldn't actually be happening. He squeezed his eyes shut and begged in his head that when he reopened them he would wake up in his bed in his apartment. Only when he reopened them and saw he was in the same spot, that's when a tear left his eye and ran down his cheek.
George took notice of his tears and frowned, reaching up to wipe the tears away. [name] flinched when he cold hand touched his cheek. This would be the last time George would ever touch him and that thought made ham cry more.
"I'm sorry, [name]. I never intended to break your heart." George whispered honestly, dragging his hand back down to rest at his side. "Go back inside. You'll get a cold if you stay out here any longer." He turned around and opened the cab door.
"George!" [name] called before he stepped in. "I love you." He said for the final time.
"I know." George got into the cab and drove away, leaving [name] alone and cold. A numb feeling washed over him as he turned around and walked back up to his apartment. Step after step he took until he was back in the warm apartment.
He shrugged off his coat, gently placing it on the coat rack before going back to the pot of stew, the same dead look in his eyes. He was emotionless as he reached for a bowl, putting it on the counter and pouring some stew into it.
He body was basically on auto pilot. It was better this then letting all the emotions in. He carried his bowl over to the table where he had set up candles for the romantic evening he had planned. He just sat there and stared at his food, not one bit hungry.
This wasn't how it was supposed to happen. He wasn't supposed to be eating alone. Why did George do this to him? He would have supported him and helped him achieve his dream.
The more he let the thoughts in, the more the emotions came spilling in. He shouted in anger, snapping his hand forward and shoving the bowl off the table, hearing the sound of it shattering on the ground and the stew spilled out.
He put his head on his arms and rested it down.
He didn't know when he would be okay again.
