"I don't think you understand what I'm saying, Veronica." He brought his hands up to tug at his hair in frustration. Why did he constantly have to repeat himself to her? Why couldn't she just listen? "Archie has a thing for you. He always has and every time he's around, he's always acting like I'm not there and is touchy with you and you never do anything about it!"
"You have it all wrong." She said flippantly and waved him off. "Me and Archie are just friends and nothing more."
He clenched his jaw in anger. There was no way she couldn't see the way Archie felt about her. No one could be that naïve.
"Just friends?" He whispered in disbelief. "You have got to be kidding me."
"Oh, my god. Would you just get over it and move on? I'm sick of talking about this." She finally snapped at him. She was sick of hearing him talk about her and Archie as if there was something there when there clearly wasn't.
"Why don't you ask him? Ask him how he feels about you and if he's happy with just being friends."
"I don't need to!"
"No! You just don't want to admit the truth. What? Do you have feelings for him back?" He had narrowed eyes and there was doubt in his chest. Doubt about his and Veronica's relationship and if they could work through this.
"I don't - I don't have feelings for him." She stuttered and that was enough for him not to believe a word she was saying.
"Who are you trying to convince?" He asked, his voice coming out softer and radiating with hurt. Her mouth opened but nothing came out. She didn't know what to say. He shook his head and grabbed his nearby jacket before storming out.
Veronica didn't make a move to follow and stared off into the distance as she let her thoughts consume her. Maybe she did have feelings for Archie but that didn't mean anything. It didn't make her forget about the feelings she had for [name]. Was it really that big of a deal?
