"How is it possible to be in love with two different people at the same time?" [name] spoke as he looked across the table at his best friend.

Caroline shrugged. "I don't know. I can understand how you love Elena, everyone does, but Damon? That guys a dick. Not even just a dick, he's a major dick."

"You're not helping, Caroline."

"I'm just being honest. If you want my advice, go for Elena, forget about Damon." Caroline said like it was that easy.

[name] sighed and put his chin on his hand. "I wish I could just pick one but like I've told you before, I can't."

"Well, you can't have both."

"Why not?"

Caroline looked at him with wide eyes. "[name]! You can't have both. It doesn't work that way. You have to choose one or the other."

He shook his head. "Well, I don't think that's fair." He huffed.

"Life isn't fair but you have to deal with it."

[name] didn't like that. Was he being selfish with the way he was thinking? He didn't feel like he was. He loved two people and he wanted them both. All he had to do was ask them if that's what they wanted as well... he knew they both had feelings for him back, so maybe they would be okay with this.

He hadn't been able to stop thinking for the rest of the day so he went to the boarding house. Maybe talking to Damon would make him feel a little better.

He knocked on the door and waited until Damon opened it. "Well, hello there. What a lovely surprise." Damon said with a smirk, looking him up and down.

[name] couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah, I, uh, wanted to see you." He replied, already feeling his cheeks heat up. Damon had that effect of him.

"Come on in." Damon stepped aside and [name] walked in. They both went into the living room and Damon poured him a glass of bourbon for them both.

"Thanks." [name] said, taking the glass and sipping from it. Damon sat down next to him, close enough to where their knees were touching.

"You look tense." Damon said with a head tilt.

"I, um, am tense. I've had a lot of my mind lately."

"Like what?"

[name] didn't know if he could tell him. As his mouth opened he felt his chest tighten and no words came out. "It doesn't matter." He said with a fake smile.

Damon hummed. "It does but I won't push."

"Thank you." He replied gratefully. "Where's Stefan?"

"Hunting cute little bunnies." Damon joked. "It's just me and you here. All alone." [name] couldn't help but laugh at that.

"Just because we're alone doesn't mean anything is going to happen."

"Oh, really? Because from what I know, you find it very hard to resist me."

"You have no idea what you're talking about."

Within a second, Damon used his vampire sped to flip [name] on the couch, laying him down on his back and hovering over him. "I think I have a very good idea. You want me."

[name] gulped, looking into Damon's blue eyes. "I don't want you." He whispered.

"Who are you trying to convince?" Damon whispered back, his breath fanning over [name]'s lips. [name] closed his eyes, expecting Damon to kiss him but he didn't. "I won't kiss you until you say you want me."

"Really?" [name] asked exasperated. Damon hummed. "Well, you can... kiss me... if you want." He cleared his throat.

"That didn't take much convincing." Damon said cockily.

"Shut up." Was all he said before he and Damon were all over each other, kissing each other hungrily. [name] tried to hold himself back but he'd been wanting to do this for so long, he couldn't hold himself back.

There kissing was only broken when the sound of somewhere else entering the room was made aware to them. "[name]?" It was Elena. He pulled back from Damon so fast, his eyes wide. Elena was looking at them heart broken. "Sorry, I, um, didn't mean to interrupt. I - I'll just go." She was already turning around before she could finish speaking.

"Elena, wait!" He called out to her but she didn't stop. He got up from the couch, feeling Damon's stare on his back as he raced out after her. "Elena, wait!" He called again. He caught up to her and grabbed her hand before she could get into her car. "Please, just let me talk."

"There's nothing to talk about." She cleared her throat. "I didn't realise you and Damon were together."

"We aren't." He shook his head. "I mean, not officially. It was just a kiss."

"Looked like a pretty intense kiss."

"Elena - "

"Do you have feelings for him?" She cut him off and he sighed.

"Yeah, I do." He looked down. "But I have feelings for you too." He added quickly. "I have feelings for the both of you."

She nodded her head. "And you don't know who to choose." She concluded.

"I don't want to choose." He admitted. "And I know that's selfish of me but I just can't. You both mean so much to me." He held onto her hands and looked into her eyes.

"You can't have us both, [name]." She said softly.

"I know..." He trailed off.

"Why not?" Damon's voice rang out from behind them. They both turned to face him. "If he wants both of us he can have both of us. I don't mind sharing." He said with a wink.

"What?" [name] said with wide eyes.

Damon shrugged. "If that's what you want then I'd be willing to do it." His eyes moved to Elena. "What about you, princess?"

Elena looked like she was at a loss for words. She looked between him and [name]. "I mean, how would that even work?"

"Don't know. Guess we'll have to see." Damon had now walked over to stand next to them.

"Okay." Elena said firmly.

"Wait, are you serious? You both really want to do this?"

"I'd do anything for you, [name]." Elena said with a small smile.

"So would I." Damon smirked.

Caroline was wrong. Looks like it could work that way.
