Chapter 65: The Mikaelson Brother, The Vampire Diaries
Word Count: 825There was confidence in his steps as he walked through Mystic Falls High School with a cocky smirk on his face. Everyone turned to stare at him and he relished in the attention. He had always been an attention seeker.
"Sorry I'm late." He spoke with a shrug when he entered his first class of the day. "I'm new here. Didn't know how to find the classroom."
He a gasp from the back of the room and turned his gaze to see a frightened looking Elena Gilbert at the back of the room. His smirk only widened. The teacher told him to take a seat and he choose the one closest to the doppelgänger.
"If you even think about hurting her-"
He cut Stefan Salvatore off, "don't get your knickers in a twist." He whispered back. "I'm not here for her. I happen to like school... okay that was a lie. I'm just looking for some entertainment."
[name] Mikaelson had been in town for only a few weeks now and he was already striking fear into their hearts. He loved it. Klaus had asked him to come to help him set up the ritual where Elena would have to be sacrificed. He had to keep a close eye on her so she didn't try and run like Katherine Pierce had done all those years ago.
"You can calm down, sweetheart. You're time to die will come but it's not now." He said quietly, looking directly at her. Her eyes widened and she sunk back in her seat, sharing a look with her boyfriend.
The whole time the class was going on, [name] looked at Elena, ignoring her uncomfortable expression and the glare Stefan was giving him. The attention he was getting was just making him feel great.

A couple nights later, [name] found himself in Elena Gilbert's bedroom, laying on her bed as he waited for Elena to come in. He saw her teddy bear and grinned, picking it up and holding it against his chest.
"Oh, my god!" Elena exclaimed as she walked in and saw him, immediately, her eyes widened with fear. "What are you doing here?" She asked, trying to make herself sound brave.
"Came to see the little sacrificial lamb and make sure she wasn't doing anything stupid." He said with an innocent smile.
"I'm not doing anything. If you hadn't noticed, I'm on house arrest." She said rather snappily.
"Aw, poor little Gilbert. The Salvatore brothers aren't letting her go out and play."
"You're a dick."
That made him snort and he pushed the teddy bear to the side. "So I've been told for the past thousand years."
"Well maybe, you should do something about that."
"Na, that's no fun. There's to many nice people in this town. It makes me sick." He shivered in disgust.
"Now, that you've seen that I'm stuck here and not doing anything stupid, can you leave. I don't feel like being antagonised all night." She huffed and faced her vanity mirror, roughly running a brush through her long brunette hair.
[name] tilted his head and got off the bed, slowly stalking towards her until he was standing behind her. When she looked up she could see his face in the reflection.
He had many similarities to Kol so she couldn't deny that he was handsome.
Seeing her eyes trail over his face made him smirk and that made her look away quickly, cursing herself for letting herself be wrapped in by his good looks. "No need to be ashamed darling. Most woman find it difficult to resist me."
"I don't know why. You're a jerk." She hissed, slamming her brush down and walking around him to go to her bed.
"Oh, touchy." He laughed. "How about that? You've been stuck inside unless you're going to school? Come out with me and have some fun. The Salvatore's won't even realise you are gone."
"Why would I want to go out with a psychopath?"
"Because there's nothing better to do." He shrugged like it was simple.
For some reason, his words actually made her think. Did she really want to spend her time with an original vampire that wanted her to be sacrificed?
"Stop overthinking, Gilbert." He rolled his eyes and stood by her door, nodding his head. "Come, or don't. Either way, I'm going to have some fun."
"This isn't some diabolical plan to end my life early?" She asked sarcastically.
"I'm not that evil."
"Yes, you are."
"You're making me regret inviting you out. You know what? I change my mind, I don't want you to come."
"To late." She grabbed onto her jacket before following after him.
After that night, [name] learned that maybe Elena Gilbert wasn't so bad and he felt something he hadn't felt in a long time. Guilt.
