[name] and Caroline had a long and complicated relationship. There weren't many people who actually said they were good for each other. Though even through all the pain and misery they caused each other, they still loved each other more then anything.
Caroline thought she would have done anything for [name]. No matter what he did or how many times he broke her heart, she would always be there for him. However, that stopped when he left town. He left town without even telling her and it was when her dad had died. When she needed him more then she ever did before.
That was something she could not forgive.
He had come back to town a year later and of course the first person he went to see was her. He knew she wouldn't exactly be too happy to see her but he wasn't expecting this much of a cold response.
"I said I was sorry, Caroline." He said, rubbing his hands down his face. "What more is there that I can do?"
"There's nothing more you can do." She shook her head. Her heart had been broken for the last time. She wasn't going to let him do this to her anymore. "I'm done with you. I mean it this time."
"What?" He whispered out, taking a step towards her but she took a step back. "Caroline... don't do this. Come on, please."
"No." She said firmly, his begging didn't mean anything. She stood with her back straight and stared him right into the eyes. "You turned your back on me when I needed you and I will never forgive you for that."
His shoulders slumped and a look of guilt entered his eyes. "I'm sorry." He said again but he could say it a thousand times and it wouldn't change anything. He had made his final mistake with her.
"I'm sure you are, [name]." She said. "Please leave and this time, don't come back. I'm not your girlfriend and I'm not your friend. I don't want to see you anymore." She shut the door in his face and walked away. She didn't break down until she was in her room, putting her hand over her mouth so he couldn't hear her cry.
While he was outside, he put a hand on the door and leaned his forehead against it.
You really did it this time, [name]. You lost the one thing that was good in your life and now you have to live with it.
