Chapter 121: Finding Out The Truth, Love Simon
Word Count: 661Simon hadn't left his room for days. His parents were worried about him but no matter how hard they tried they couldn't get him out. He wouldn't tell them what was going on which only fuelled their worry.
Simon stared at his laptop screen, feeling more and more tears leave his eyes. He had been emailing with an anonymous user, where he had told them his two biggest secrets. He was gay and he was in love with his best friend. At the time it had felt nice to get it off his chest, like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
But those emails had leaked and now everyone knew. Including [name]. The boy Simon had tried so hard to keep in the dark. How could this have happened to him? How was it fair? When his emails leaked people had started messaging him. Either in support or anger. Some people really cared about how he felt towards the same sex.
But that didn't bother him nearly as much as the thought of [name] knowing and hating him. He didn't even know if he knew because Simon had basically thrown his and phone broken it when everything came out. As for his laptop, he had blocked everyone. He didn't want to talk.
He didn't want to hear how upset [name] was with him. He put his hands to his face, trying to stop himself from crying but it was impossible.
There was a knock on his door but he didn't answer. He couldn't get the words out. When the door opened he thought it would be one of his family members so he didn't look up.
The person closed the door and walked over to him, leaning beside him and wrapping him in their warm embrace. Simon froze. The persons scent. He knew exactly who that was.
He snapped his head up and saw [name] already looking at him with those kind eyes. Not an ounce of hate or anger. It only made Simon cry harder.
"It's okay." [name] said soothingly, rubbing Simon's back in circles. "It's okay." He repeated.
Simon let himself be pulled forward in another embrace and he rested his head on [name]'s chest. And he really thought that [name] would push him away but he didn't. He let him cry into his chest.
"I'm sorry." Simon sobbed. "I didn't want you to find out. I'm so sorry."
[name] sighed, pushing Simon back slightly to look him in the eyes. "You have nothing to be sorry about."
"You don't hate me?"
The other male chuckled lightly. "I could never hate you." He smiled. "I love you." Simon nodded and looked down. [name] put his hand under his chin and lifted his head back up. "I really, really love you."
Simon looked at him confused. "But like a completely friendly love."
[name] shook his head. "A love where I'm so annoyed I wasted so much time when you felt the same way."
"The same way?" Simon was in a state where he had no idea what was going on.
"You really need me to spell it out? I thought you were a genius?" [name] laughed before leaning forward and softly kissing his cheek. "Need more?"
Simon felt like his heart was about to beat out of his chest. "Yes."
[name] bit his lip before moving from his cheek to his lips and kissing him just as softly as he did his cheek. When he pulled back he searched Simon's eyes. "Figured it out?"
"Y - Yeah. I did."
[name] laughed and the two hugged tightly. A once distraught man had done a one eighty and Simon had never been happier to knew the person he was in love with had loved him back.
