[name]'s hands shook as he stood outside the large doors. There was a plate of herbivore meat in his hands and it made him feel sick to his stomach. He didn't know what the poor animal used to be or how the ended up on the plate.
It made him scared. Would he end up on a plate like this one day? He was just a simple sheep that had been kidnapped and was now the possession of the Shishigama.
At first he thought their plan was to kill him but they decided to keep him around so he could serve them. They liked his look and his soft wool. Sometimes they would shave him so they could have it all for themselves. All [name] could do was sit there and let them do whatever they wanted. He didn't have a choice. He didn't want to be eaten.
"Come in." A voice spoke.
He opened the doors and walked in, his head down towards the floor. "It's time for your lunch, boss." He said quietly. He walked closer to the boss and stood beside him, his hands started to shake even more.
Louis, the deer, was the new boss of the lions. [name] didn't understand it but he supposed it wasn't his position to understand a deer that was a cannibal. He tried to put the thought out of his head.
"You're scared." Louis said with a raise of his eyebrow.
"I'm sorry, boss!" He tried to keep the fear from his voice. "I - I'm trying to hide my emotions."
Louis just stared at him. "Sit down."
"W - What?"
"Sit." It wasn't a question. [name] shakily put the plate of meat on the table before he was sitting down. He put his hands in his lap and looked down. "Look at me." Louis demanded. He immediately looked up. "Are you hungry?" The deer picked up his knife and fork and began to cut the meat.
[name] was starving but he'd rather continue to starve then eat any of whatever that poor herbivore used to be. He shook his head. "No, boss."
Louis cut himself off a piece and brought it to his mouth. [name] squeezed his hands together, feeling sick to his stomach as Louis began to chew with a neutral expression.
"I'm not going to hurt you. There's no need to be afraid anymore." After only one bite he put his knife and fork back down. "I don't know how you were treated before I came into this position but you're safe now."
[name] couldn't help the tears that came into his eyes, staring right at Louis. "Do you mean that?"
"As long as you don't cross me then I will protect you. No one will hurt you."
Was this real? Was Louis the deer speaking the truth. "T - Thank you, boss." He felt a weight lift off his shoulders.
"Take this plate away. I'm done." Louis leaned back after pushing the plate awake from him.
[name] nodded his head and stood back up, taking the plate.
"If anyone messes with you, you come right to me, understand?"
"Yes, boss. I understand." [name] didn't know why Louis was being so kind to him and he didn't ask. He just hoped it stayed that way.
If Louis protected him, nothing could ever happen to him, right?
