Y/N'S POV

Tuesday, March 8

We were laying in the grass next to the lake. I was on my stomach reading a book and Draco was sitting, his back on a massive tree writing in a journal.

"What's this?" I asked pointing the book in which he was scribbling in.

"A journal."

"What are you writing?"

"It's personal." He said, looking at me with a smile.

"I thought you were past the age of secret journals."

"I think we're never too old for anything." He answered, before going back to his journal.

I looked at the lake, thinking about Harry. He was my friend after all and I didn't want us to be mad at each other forever, but he needed to respect my decisions.

"What are you thinking about?" Draco asked.

"Nothing."

"It didn't look like nothing, you seem very worried."

"It's Harry, I don't want him to be mad at me. We're friends after all."

"Maybe you should go talk to him."

"Why?"

"Because it's good to go after what we want. And if what you want is to be friends with Potter again, then go fix it." He said with a smile.

"You know what? You're right." I said getting up and getting in his arms.

"We should get to class." I said.

"Yes, see you later." He said before getting up.

I was going in transfiguration and saw Harry in the hallway.

"Harry!" I said.

He turned back, then rolled his eyes and kept walking.

"Can we talk please?" I asked calmly.

"No. I have nothing to say to you."

"Well I do!" I said taking his arm and making him face me.

"I don't want us to be in a fight. You're my friend! The first friend I made here actually. I can't lose you and I don't want to."

"Aw, how cute." He said rolling his eyes.

"Harry please!"

"It's Potter!"

"Are you kidding me?"

"Anything Y/L/N, anything and I would've forgave you, but Malfoy? I can't." He said before turning away and entering Professor Mcgonagall's class.

I let myself fall onto my chair, next to Neville.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah." I sighed.

"You don't look okay? Do you want an herbs smoothie I made, it helps to relieve anxiety." He said showing me a yellow bottle with plants on it.

"No thank you, but I really like your cup! Is it new?"

"Luna gave it to me." He said smiling at his bottle.

"You two are close huh?" I asked with a smirk.

"She's really nice. I like hanging out with her."

I smiled at him before Mcgonagall entered the room.

When the class was over I ran over to Harry.

"Potter! Please hear me out!"

"I already did, now leave me alone."

He left and I sat on a bench. I thought about all of this. Was it really worth it?

"Y/L/N?"

I looked up and Professor Lupin was there looking at me with a worried look.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Not really..."

"Come with me."

I got up and followed him in his office.

"What's going on?" He asked.

"It's Harry, I mean Potter."

"What about him?"

"He's mad at me, because of a choice I made."

"Mr. Malfoy isn't it?"

"How'd you know?!"

"Everyone's talking about it and it came to the teacher's ears. I knew Mr. Potter wouldn't be fine with that."

"Am I doing a mistake?" I asked.

"Does he feel like a mistake to you?"

"Not at all."

"What does he feels like?"

I smiled.

"Like the best things that ever happened to me."

"Then, you have your answer."

"But what should I do about Potter? I tried to sort things out, but he won't hear me out."

"You can try for him to hear you out all you want, but what you need is for him to listen to you. Make him listen."

"But how?"

"Only you can know. You're his friend."

I smiled at him gratefully before leaving his class.

At the end of the day, I went to find Harry. He was in the Great Hall.

"Potter, can I talk to you?"

"Go away."

"Please, just five minutes."

"Fine." He sighed before following me outside of the room.

"What do you want?"

"Do you truly love Cedric? Or your friends?" I asked.

"Wha-what?"

"You heard me correctly. Now answer."

"Well of course I do."

"Then, you need to stop treating me like shit. The way you act with me affects all the people around you. You don't need to be my best friend. At least, try to be civil. They're my friends too."

He looked at me, thinking about what I said.

"Fine Y/L/N. But only for them." He said before turning away and going back into the Great Hall.

"Small victories Y/N, small victories." I whispered to myself.
