Y/N'S POV
Thursday, September 8
I was eating breakfast at the Gryffindor table, when Draco sat next to me and kissed my cheek.
My friends got used to him, but the others at the table thought it was hard to swallow their pride and let a Slytherin sit at their table.
We all chatted and the topic of the Triwizard Tournament was inevitable. Tonight, the headmaster was going to reveal the three champions and everyone was excited.
"Are you going to put your name in the goblet?" Ron asked Cedric, eating his toast.
"Yeah, I'll go and put my paper in it at lunch." He replied, showing a small piece of parchment.
Ron and his brothers kept whinging about how unfair the age rule was.
"I think that this rule is necessary. After all, once you're chosen there's no coming back and apparently, the tasks are really dangerous. Actually, they're deadly." Hermione said, looking at everyone around the table with an utterly serious look.
"Also, what do they mean by 'eternal glory'" I said, mimicking Dumbledore.
"Well, it's a really huge thing to win this tournament." Cedric said.
"To a point where's it's worth dying?" I asked.
"Well, it's not like the chances of death are really high." Cedric answered.
"You never know." Hermione added.
"Well I hope you don't die." Harry said, snuggling in Cedric's arms.
"No one's going to die." Draco said, suddenly.
When the bell rang, we all went to class. I had Astronomy first period and was kind of looking forward to this new subject on my timetable.
Professor Sinistra began her class and everything went perfectly.
I was quite decent, as I made a perfect star chart. Our teacher was quite happy about it.
After, I had Transfiguration. Seeing Professor Mcgonagall's stern, but charming face again was nice, after a long summer.
I couldn't really focus on her class as all I kept thinking about was the stupid tournament. Was it true that the tasks were deadly? I haven't searched up about that yet. I told myself I should probably head to the library after dinner to try and collect some informations about this awaited event.
At lunch, I headed to the Great Hall. For the past week, all the tables had been pushed aside to make room for the famous goblet of fire.
Hermione, Harry, Ron and Draco were in the stands watching all the eager seventh years throw their name into the fire.
Cedric came happily with all of his friends into the room, he looked at us furtively and approached the goblet.
Harry looked away, clearly annoyed.
Diggory threw his piece of parchment anyway and looked at us, a look of pride on his face.
He sat next to Harry.
"You just threw yourself in the fire." Harry said, still looking away.
"Don't be so tense, nothing'll happen, it's just a small competition."
"Yeah, it's just the most dangerous tournament in the whole Wizarding World, but sure it's nothing." Harry replied, sarcastically and bitterly.
"Come on, eternal glory!" Cedric added, still a big smile on his face.
