thirty─five

"Doyoung," A sigh escaped Sihye's lips, eyesight blearing at the sight of him standing there as if he's healthy when he's obviously not.

Well, physically healthy but mentally unhealthy.

"W-What are you doing here?" Doyoung stuttered, absentmindedly standing in front of Taeil as if to protect him despite starting to feel beads of sweat roll down his nape and forehead – heck, it wasn't even that hot inside the hospital.

Sihye was loss of words, she knew his illness, but she didn't know the cause of it. And seeing how he reacted the moment he laid his eyes on her, she mayhaps have an idea on why he's here.

"D-Doyoung, you're sweating," Taeil used his free hand to hold the younger's hand, only to feel him shaking like crazy. "You're shaking too."

The lady's eyes widened at the symptoms he was showing – it was definitely her fault on why he's here. She looked around, having the urge to hold his shoulders and calm him down, but she's too afraid if she's going to make it worse.

"E-Excuse me! Page whoever is available and prepare immediate CBT right now!" Sihye called out, "Hey, it's going to be okay. Calm down, please."

Sihye ran to the nurse station and asked for sedatives whilst a few nurses ran to Doyoung who was obviously having a panic attack. Tears were starting to blur his eyesight and his vision started getting hazy, and fortunate for him Taeil was there to support him before his whole body fell to the floor.

"S-Sihye, a-answer me." Doyoung stared at her figure, heart beating rapidly.

"Paging Dr. Ji and Dr. Park to the lobby, patient 0201 has a panic attack." Sihye and Taeil faintly heard a nurse's voice from a distance.

"S-Sihye—"

"Doyoung, stop talking." Sihye managed to order.

Taking a few more breaths, Doyoung couldn't help but feel his eyelids fall, but that's not stopping him from talking to her. "S-Sihye, please a-answer me... P-Plea—"

"Hush now, Doyoung, calm down." Taeil caressed his hair and mayhaps forget that he also has a mental disorder that he started to calm the male down.

The lady didn't even approach them and just stood in her position, eyes never leaving their position as everyone around her was busy at what is happening.

"Prof. Yoon, the sedative—"

"N-No, no. You inject the sedative, please don't let him come closer to me..." Sihye shook her head and took a step back, eyes gazing back at the two that some nurses are already helping Taeil back on his feet.

Minutes passed and both Hansol and Sooyoung fortunately came in time and transferred Doyoung in a seperate room, to probably put medication on his dextrose since he isn't awake for them to perform immediate CBT.

Sihye averted her attention to Taeil who looks rather worried by the nurse station while clutching on the meds that the nurse just gave him not long ago. Sihye may not be a psychologist (because she wanted to be a surgeon and she was just here because of Neo City Hospital's event shit), but she can sense that Taeil was worried.

The lady heaved a deep breath before making her way to where the patient is, standing beside him as they hear the nurses and doctors' footsteps go softer.

Taeil looked down and glanced at the sudden presence beside him, he knew he was worried, but he just had to feel another thing as he looked at this doctor that stood beside him. He didn't know what it is and he didn't want to feel it again.

"Are you okay?"

And she just had to speak.

Taeil looked at her – he admits that it really tested his height since he just had to look beside him with the lady having the same height as her.

"I- yeah." Taeil replied, using his other hand to hold his IV stand as the lady looked at him with an unreadable expression.

"Do you want me to escort you back to the ward?"

Taeil gazed at her, blinking as he was about to shake his head and say 'no' when she grabbed the medicine from his hand and plastered this annoying, as what Taeil would want to describe, smile on her face, "I insist."

The patient sighed, why did she even ask in the first place?

Taeil quietly followed her steps, trailing from behind her without uttering a single word up until they arrived at the elevator, with Sihye pressing the floor where they were at.

They shared a deafening silence, and Taeil didn't know if he wanted to thank her or roll his eyes at her as she broke the ice between them.

"So, Taeil, right?"

Not really interested in the topic, Taeil hummed in response and impatiently tapped on his stand with his finger. Just when he wanted to get out of this awkward thing, the time just had to slow down—

"I saw the way Doyoung looked at you." Sihye chuckles, eyes brimming with tears as she looked down and gulped the will to cry, "I'm not sure... But I may be the reason why he's here."

Taeil diverted his eyes from the floor to Sihye that's now looking at the ground, and who looked like she was crying.

"I know he's afraid to love again because I left him," Sihye choked back a sob, "But I'm sure he was starting to feel things again— especially to you."

"Prof. Yoon—"

Taeil didn't get to finish whatever he was about to say as the elevator dinged. Sihye used her hands to wipe her tears, fixing her labcoat as she glanced at Taeil, "I'm sorry, that was unprofessional of me. Come on,"

What made Sihye change so hard? He didn't meet her until now, but he kind of over heard some doctors talking behind her back about her acting like a bitch, and he did expect her to act that way but his expectations went down just now.

Taeil quietly followed once again, thinking of what Sihye meant about her statement a while ago.

Upon arriving at the Irregular Ward, Taeil was about to go in first when he felt Sihye's hands grip on his shoulders, fortunately turning him around softly to face her.

"Taeil, promise me."

The male raised a brow, another tear rolled down on Sihye's cheek.

"Promise me you'll mend his heart back."
