I woke up the next morning and slowly sat up, I realized I had fallen asleep leaning onto Sirius. He stood up when he realized I was awake and marked both of our walls. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I'd fallen asleep." He gave me a small smile, "you don't need to apologize. How are you feeling?" I looked down at my arm, "better. Thank you." He nodded, "don't worry about it."
I realized he didn't give me the rock back, and today was the first day I felt as if I didn't need it. Not until the guards came to take me to the washroom I slid the rock up my sleeve. When I opened the door I was extremely thankful I was alone. I used the water to rinse my hair out, and then swiftly made my way back to the cell. I set the rock back down on the ground and sat in my corner.
When Sirius was back we played a game which basically involved just kicking the rock back and forth. "Tell me about what your school was like?" I smiled, "Hogwarts?" He nodded, "your friends, classes, everything."
I began, "well I'd say one of my best friends is Harry, then Ron and Hermione. We all stick together." I explained what happened first year when Harry and I saw Voldemort's face on the back our professors head. Then I told Sirius about the chamber, when Harry had to fight a basilisk.
Sirius was soaking this all in his face full of excitement. "This Harry? Is Harry Potter?" I nodded. Sirius smiled, "you're lucky to have each other." He then sat down flipping the rock in his hand, "what was your sister like?" I shrugged, "we were never similar, stopped paying attention to each other after we got sorted into different houses."
Sirius nodded, "I had a brother. We didn't talk to much either." I looked at my hands, "Do you regret what you did?" He gave me a small smile, "aspects of it. But you don't need to worry about that."
"Everyone else seems to be different in here. Why are we still... normal." Sirius pointed at his heart, "the innocent don't go mad." I narrowed my eyes, "so you are innocent." Sirius shrugged, "not entirely."
I nodded not convinced. As night fell I rested my head back. And had a rude awakening when a guard was slamming the bars. "Clara Parkinson." I stood up walking towards him. He firmly grabbed my arms leading me to another level. "You have a visitor."
I was shown into a small room and was confused when I saw Dumbledore sitting at the table. "Clara, good morning dear." I sat down slowly, "sir, what are you doing?" He placed his hand on mine, "the innocent truly dont go mad. My dear that's an ugly cut." I nodded, "Bellatrix." Dumbledore smiled, "I just came to say I hope your prepared for your third year, some say it's more complex than first and second." I stared at him confused, "sir, I'm in Azkaban. They say I'm a murderer." Dumbledore smiled, "no dear you're not a murderer not without a trial. I look forward to seeing you soon."
He stood up and swiftly left the room leaving me more confused than ever. The guard led me back to my cell and pushed me into it before slamming the door and walking away. "What was that about?" Sirius asked. I shrugged unsure if I should tell him about what Dumbledore said.
"Sirius." I whispered later that day. He hummed in response. "I don't think your guilty." Sirius nodded, "Clara whether I am or not will not change the fact that I have been locked up in Azkaban for over 12 years." I nodded, "I believe you." He shown his head, "you shouldn't. I'm not as innocent as you think."
I started to protest, "enough Clara." Don't waste your breath nothing you say or believe will change what happened and you shouldn't worry about it." I scoffed sitting down, "yes sir." He rolled his eyes sitting in his own corner.
The days we're getting extremely long, I was bored and Sirius told me to get over it anytime I brought it up. "What was your family like?" I asked Sirius. He scoffed, "exactly like yours." I smiled, "ah so your father also had your mother murdered then had you take the fall?" He nodded, "precisely." I shook my head closing my eyes trying to think about anything but my mother. "What about school?" He smiled, "I had great friends like you, there was four of us. All in Gryffindor." I nodded, "what were they like?" He shrugged, "we had lots of fun, knew almost every passage in Hogwarts. Ever heard of the maurderers?" I shook my head. "They were pretty popular in my day. We became animagesouses." I laughed, "what were you?" Sirius smiled, "secret." I sighed leaning back, "you sounded fun." He agreed, "the funnest."
