I spent most time with Fred these days, doing everything I could to avoid Harry. We sat together in the common room Saturday morning. "Do you have a lot of work today?" I shrugged, "enough, what about you?" He smiled, "not like I planned on doing it."
Ron came and sat down with us. "Christmas break starts tomorrow." Fred nodded, "heard you're staying here." Ron looked at me, "are you Clara?" I nodded. Fred nudged me, "why don't you come with me? Mums been wanting to see you after everything I've been begging her not to write." I shook my head, "no Fred not this time." He threw his arm up, "what are you going to do here all break?" I shrugged, "hang out with Ron Hermione maybe Cedric I'll be fine Fred."
He nodded, "if you say so." Ron smiled, "we'll have fun." I got up, "want to go for a walk?" I asked. Ron shook his head, "I'm gonna grab some food." Fred stood up grabbing my hand. We made our way out into the halls, "mum really wants to see you Clara, I think you should stay with us." I looked up at him, "I'll let you know, it's just more complicated then that." He smiled, "it doesn't have to be, not with us." I hit him, "let's go this way, we don't go here very often." He led us down a new path, going on about why I should stay with him this summer. "Fred, is that Draco with Pansy?" We both stopped, it sounded like Pansy was crying. "Go Fred, I'll see you later."
I walked up to them seeing Pansy against the wall struggling to catch her breath. I sat down beside her wrapping my arm around her. Draco sighed sitting on the other side. "I don't know what to do anymore." She cried. I nodded, "I know what you mean." She wiped off her face, "I just want the truth. Don't you?" Draco stared at me, "she hasn't stopped crying for over an hour." I rested my head on her shoulder, "I do too."
"I want mum. I want to go home and have Christmas, and dinner. I want to see my room again, and I want to know why dad did this." I sighed, "he's never been a good man Pansy." She shook her head, "he wouldn't have murdered mum without a reason Clara." I bit my lip, "I don't know what to say, I feel exactly the same way. Pansy I've lost almost all my friends, you're not alone." She nodded, "I just want to go home." I agreed, "I'm going to find out what happened, the truth about everything. We both deserve it."
She continued wiping her tears, "thank you." I stood up wiping off my jeans and made my way swiftly back into the castle. I marched down to the dungeon kicking open Professor Snapes door. Lupin jumped back to avoid getting knocked down. "Ever heard of knocking you ungrateful..." I shook my head, "shut up." He stood up, "what did you just say to me."
I took a seat in front of his desk. "I'm not leaving until you give me what I want." He glared at me, "a detention? You already have yourself one of those." I shrugged, "I'll wait for you two to finish, I have a feeling we're gonna be here a while."
Lupin and Snape talked in hush voices in the back and I stared around snapes classroom. When I heard the door shut Snape came to his desk sitting down in front of me. "What?" He spat. "Give me the truth." Snape scoffed, "get out. NOW." I stared at him, "you don't get to yell at me. You don't get to treat me like shit. You helped them murder my mum. I have nothing because of you. So do something good and tell me the god damn truth."
He stood up completely ignoring me, "I want you out of this classroom immediately." I raised my eyebrow, "or what? You're gonna send me back to Azkaban. Been there done that." He slammed his fist down, "if you weren't in the hallway that night everything would have been fine. You dug your own grave." I pushed my chair back, "that's bullshit and you know it. They used my wand, you all had it planned out. Just know if I ever get the chance I'll kill you too." He scoffed, "I'd like to see you try." I shrugged, "you'd be surprised what you become after being locked in Azkaban. You mean nothing to me, and neither would your death." He grabbed my arm ripping me from my chair, "don't ever threaten me again. Because if you thought Azkaban was bad, what they'll do to you is far worse you pathetic stupid little girl."
I ripped my arm away staring at him. "Get out." He whispered. I slammed his door as hard as I possibly could walking up to the astronomy tower.
