The next morning at breakfast I watched owls fly in with packages and was confused when one dropped in front of me. I slowly opened it reading the letter on top.
Dear Clara,
I'll try and forget the fact that you haven't written yet. It's been quite lonely here without you, anyway, I got a letter saying you needed a gown for something. I also heard you would not be coming home for the holidays. I went to your old house with Dumbledores permission and found a gown that used to belong to your mother, I thought you'd like this very much. Sirius and I picked out a necklace that would go well with it. Enjoy, we both miss and love you.I stared at the gown it was a light grey and had sparkles everywhere. It was a lace top that went out into a beautiful skirt. "Clara that's gorgeous." Hermione smiled. I laughed, "it was my mother's." Harry looked at it, "Fred's lucky." Ron agreed, "that's one hell of a dress." Fred hit the back of Ron's head, "don't talk about my girlfriend like that."
Later that day we were pulled aside by McGonagall, and told about a Yule ball. Immediately Fred winked at me and I gave him a smile back.
Since then every night I tried on her gown standing in front of the mirror staring at myself. I looked exactly like her, well as I imagined she would have looked, in this.
When the night of the ball actually arrived I was nervous to put the dress on. It felt like something special between me and my mum. I didn't want to have to share that with anyone. Eventually I decided to get over that feeling and get ready.
I waited for Hermione to finish and together we walked down the stairs, leading to the great hall. "Hermione." I whispered. She nodded. "Who are you going with?" She smiled, "Victor Krum." I gasped, "that's amazing, you look stunning, he's lucky."
I saw Fred waiting at the bottom of the stairs for me. "You look absolutely gorgeous love, honestly." I grabbed his hand, "and you're dashing." We watched the champions enter the room dancing with their dates, and were soon prompted to join in.
Fred put his hands on my waist rocking us back and forth. "How are you so perfect?" I nudged him rolling my eyes, "I ask myself everyday what I did to deserve someone like you." He shrugged, "funny I ask myself the same thing everyday."
As people began leaving the dance I followed Fred out, we stopped when we saw Cedric. "You look amazing Clara." I smiled, "you clean up well yourself." He sighed, "it's getting late isn't it?" I nodded, "are you ready for the second task?" He shrugged, "I know what it is, but I have no clue if I'm ready." I sighed, "did you tell Harry? I know he's your competition but.." Cedric laughed, "I'm going to yes." I smiled, "thank you, truly." Cedric hit me lightly, "you don't need to thank me." I smiled, "night Cedric."
After we said goodbye Fred led us back to the common room. We made our way to an isolated room, and then I turned around smiling. He carefully pulled my zipper down breathing hotly on my neck. I shivered as he pressed his lips firmly against my shoulder. I helped him slide my dress off and then turned around to face him. He pressed his lips to mine forcing me against the wall. I gasped as he began slowly moving on me. "I love you, Clara." I bit my lip running my hands through his hair. When he pulled away I laughed. "What's so funny love?" I shrugged, "nothing just how perfect everything is now, compared to last year of course." Fred handing me my dress, "well you deserve it." I kissed him one last time. "Goodnight love."
Instead of getting dressed I poked my head out the common room then raced up the stairs to my dorm using only my gown to hide myself. Hermione sat on her bed smiling. "Good night was it?" I rolled my eyes grabbing some clothes. "It was amazing actually, how was yours?" She scoffed, "Ronald ruined everything." I nodded, "Weasleys." She laughed, "night Clara." I said goodnight then climbed into bed pulling my blankets close to me.
