I still continued to push Sirius' death to the back of my mind. The thought of him getting killed, by Bellatrix of all people made me literally want to rip my heart out of chest so I couldn't feel anything anymore.
Remus let himself into my room handing me a list, "you need these things for school. I can come with you, but tonight's a full moon." I looked at the list, "I'll be fine." He gave me a small smile, "just be careful out there." I gave him a small hug before he left my room. I then quickly got dressed holding the paper tightly in my hand. "Don't be too long Clara." I nodded, "I won't. Goodbye, love you."
I took a moment to stare at the alley, most of the stores were completely trashed. I looked down to the end of the path and saw the twins new shop. I began walking there faster when I saw the glares some people were giving me from the store beside me.
I took a breath of relief when I opened the door to their shop. It was so bright and happy, it felt calming in a sense. "How you doing?" Fred smiled hurrying over to me. I let him wrap me in a big hug and held on tightly. I closed my eyes not wanting to let go of him. "Clara?" He whispered causing me to finally pull away. "Let's go upstairs." I followed him to the couch taking a moment to take in the store. "This place is amazing Fred." He smiled, "I reckon people could use a laugh these days. You especially, go grab some things, on the house." I bit my lip, "no, I really don't need anything right now." He met my eyes, "so how are you doing, truly?" I wanted to tell him the truth about running away but I didn't want to jeopardize it for me in anyway. "I'm fine." I watched all the kids play around with the twins products. "No you're not." I pushed my lips together, "we both know I haven't been fine for a few years now." He squeezed my hand, "I know." I sighed resting my head on his shoulder, "I do love you Fred. So so much. But I really can't be in a relationship, not right now." I felt him gently set his chin on my head, "I know. And I love you just as much."
"It's going to suck, not having you at Hogwarts this year." He laughed, "I won't miss that place. I will miss you though. Write often." I smiled, "of course." We sat together for about an hour before I held my list up, "I should get going." He took the paper from my hands, "no, you go home. I'll get this for you." I laughed, "Fred I can get my own school supplies." He shook his head, "have you seen the state of this place? It's not safe here anymore, especially not for you or Harry. Go home." I bit my lip, "alright. Thanks Fred." He smiled giving me one last hug, "I love you Clara. I'll bring this to you soon." I nodded, "love you too."
Remus was working on dinner when I got back. "You don't have any bags? Everything alright?" I sat down, "Fred's bringing me my things. The alley was completely trashed, except the twin's shop. It was scary." He sighed, "that's nice of Fred. It's getting more real these days." I agreed, "does it feel like it did last time?" He shook his head, "it feels worse, because I know how much danger you and Harry are in and there's nothing I can do." I nodded, "I'll be safe. Dumbledore wouldn't send me somewhere dangerous." Remus sat down, "I hope so. I'm sorry Clara. Truly." I smiled, "you have nothing to apologize for. You've done more for me than anyone in my actual family ever did, so thank you." I let him pull me into a hug, "I would do it all over again." I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck burying my head in his shoulder. "I can't lose anyone else," I whispered. He squeezed me a little tighter, "I wish I could tell you it is going to be alright."
