When I first learned of bts, I was drawn to some of the other members first. You were quiet in the background and preferred to eat your tangerines in peace. But it wasn't long until I saw how much more you were.
Somewhere along the way from discovery to stanning to becoming an ARMY, you tiny ran into my heart. And now, are my bias to stay.
You make me smile in a way that no one else can, you make my heart warm when I see your gummy smile, you make me laugh when you imitate bullfrogs and waterdeer, and your lyrics have made me cry and learn to love myself.
There was a time in my life that I would sit at a piano and wish that I was as good as my sister. There was a time when I didn't want to play at all. There was a time when I decided to take lessons and become as good as I wanted to be. But now I sit at the piano and play your songs.
My dream is not to become an idol, a singer, a songwriter, or a musician. But I know music will forever be a big part of my life, and you and the rest of bts, a big part of that. I listen to your songs as I walk with my dog in the morning, I sing along after class when I need to decompress, I dance along to the choreography and scream out the fan chants when no one else is at home. And I play your songs on the piano.
I know it took a lot for you to get where you are, and I know there are times when you and the rest of the members question why or if it was the right decision. But I also know how much you've helped me and so many other ARMYs all around the world, and I know that I will never be able to thank you enough.
My heart dreads the day BangTan will disband. And if I think about it for too long, I'll start to get emotional. But the music and the love you've created will live on forever.
When I was younger, I would sit on the floor late at night and listen to my mother play the piano. There were certain songs that she would play that I can remember each and every note. And I know that when the day comes when I'll have children, they'll hear me playing your songs before they fall asleep.
Today, with the Grammys coming up, I want you to know that whatever happens, we'll get you a Grammy, and we'll get you a big one too. It may not be this year or the next, but we'll do it. Because streaming, voting, tweeting, and buy albums, is the way that we ARMYs try to repay just a fraction of the gift you've given us again and again.
