Cheryl pulled into the parking lot as she waited for Toni to finish her shift, she was looking forward to the three of them spending more time together. A smile crossed her face when she saw Toni walking towards her car with her backpack. 'Hey babe' Toni smiled as got in her seat leaning in to kiss the redhead. 'Hi babe, how was your shift?' Cheryl asked as Toni put on her seat belt. 'Fine, not too busy, how was your day?' Toni replied. 'Not too bad, I've just been at home all day so pretty boring' the redhead said as she pulled out of the parking lot and set off towards Tommy's school. 'I told Sweet and Fangs we were staying with you for a few days but I haven't mentioned anything to Tommy yet'. 'Well I was wondering if we should sit together tonight and let him choose some things for his room at my place' Cheryl smiled. 'Sounds great, I'm sure he'll love that' Toni grinned.
The couple were a little early as they stood outside of Tommy's class. 'Toni, hi' Betty said as she approached them. 'Hey Betty, Jug, how are you both?' Toni asked politely. 'We're good how about you and...' Betty said looking at the couples joined hands. 'Oh sorry' Toni shook her head 'this is my partner Cheryl, babe this is Betty and Jughead'. The redhead politely held out her hand to shake Betty and Jugheads hands 'it's nice to meet you'. 'It's nice to meet you too' Betty smiled widely. 'It's great to meet you Cheryl' Jughead nodded with a smile. It was awkward for a moment before the classroom door opened. 'Well we'll see you guys later' Jughead smiled as he looked for his daughter. 'Mommy! Cheryl!' Tommy ran out of the classroom wrappings his arms around their legs. Just as Toni was about to speak to her son his teacher approached them. 'Ms Topaz do you have a moment?'. 'Uh sure' Toni said looking at Cheryl. 'You can all come through if that's what you want Ms Topaz' she smiled following the teacher as Cheryl picked up the little boy.
'Don't worry it's nothing bad I just thought you'd like to see this' she said looking through a pile of paper of her desk. 'So today we did a class project about what makes us happy, right Tommy?' she said looking at the little boy in the redheads arms. 'Yep' he smiled happily more interested in playing with Cheryl's hair. 'Ah here we are she said pulling out a single piece of paper, Tommy would you like to explain to everyone what makes you happy?' his teacher asked. He nodded as Cheryl placed him on the floor and he ran towards his teacher. She kneeled next to her student as she whispered in his ear 'explain what your drawing is and what makes you happy okay?'. Tommy nodded turning his attention to his Mom and Cheryl. 'This is a drawing of what makes me happy' he said turning the picture around as he pointed to parts of his drawing. 'This is me' he said pointing to the stickman in the middle 'this is Mommy and this is Cheryl' he said pointing to the other two people he had drawn. The women's hearts melting immediately. 'They are what makes me the happiest because they look after me and they love me. They taught me how to do things like swimming. Mommy makes Cheryl happy and Cheryl makes Mommy happy too! I love them both this much' he said stretching his arms out. Toni felt herself fill up, her son was the sweetest little boy ever she turned to Cheryl who had tears streaming down her face trying in vain to wipe them away. 'The way Tommy talked about you both just warmed my heart' the little boys teacher smiled 'I thought it would be nice for you to both know how he felt'. 'Thank you' Toni nodded 'he's a sweetheart' she said looking down at her son. 'Cheryl are you okay?' Tommy asked concerned at the redheads tears. 'I'm okay' she nodded with a smile 'you just make me so happy' she said kneeling down to him bringing him into a hug. Toni knelt down to them both 'and we both love you' she booped his nose. 'We do' Cheryl nodded.
Toni buckled Tommy into his seat 'you and I are going to be having a sleepover at Cheryl's for a while, what do you think?'. 'I think yesss!' he smiled punching the air. 'Okay then let's go!' Toni laughed as she got into her own seat. Cheryl was still feeling overwhelmed by what had just happened, her parents were always so cruel to her and she never had another adult to love and care for her, she was glad she could be that person for Tommy. Although Toni didn't like to see her girlfriend cry her reaction to Tommy's little speech was beautiful, she loved the way Cheryl loved her son. 'You okay babe? He hits you right in the feels right?' Toni smiled sweetly rubbing the redheads thigh. 'He does, it was just really nice to hear' Cheryl smiled trying to hold back more tears. 'Well it's true, you're so important to us both' Toni squeezed her girls leg before pulling it away. 'What do you guys say to pizza for dinner?' Toni shouted excitedly. 'Yayyyy!' Tommy met her enthusiasm. 'Sounds great TT' Cheryl smiled driving them home.
As soon as the redhead unlocked the door Tommy ran straight to his toy box, he hadn't visited lately and he hadn't really had chance to play with his new toys. 'Hey before that Mommy and Cheryl need to talk to you buddy, can you come here' she patted the space on the couch in between her and the redhead. He did as he was told looking curiously between the women. 'So I've already told you that we are staying here for a while but Cheryl thought it would be a really cool idea for you to have your very own bedroom for when we sleep here' Toni said excitedly. 'Really?' Tommy said looking at the redhead with wide eyes. 'Really you can pick whichever one you want' Cheryl smiled. 'Now?' he asked impatiently waiting to jump off the couch. 'If you'd like' Cheryl nodded. He didn't need to be told twice, he was straight off the couch and walking up the stairs. 'Thomas be careful' Toni warned as her and the redhead were close behind him. They sat at the top of the stairs as he inspected the spare three bedrooms chuckling as he come from one room and into another then back again. 'Okay this one' Tommy said standing by the door. 'This is the one you want?' Cheryl asked. He nodded enthusiastically. 'Well okay then, after dinner we can go into the laptop and pick out some new furniture and paints for you' Cheryl smiled happily, her days were being filled a lot with that, happiness, she could easily get used to it.
The pizza had arrived and they had sat in front of the tv watching cartoons while they ate. It was really nice for them all to be together even if the house was filled with comfortable silence right now. Toni took the trash out before taking her seat back on the couch. 'I'm comfortable in buying Tommy what he wants for his bedroom if you're alright with that TT' Cheryl whispered so the little boy didn't hear her. 'I mean it's your house so if you're happy with that it's fine with me' Toni nodded. 'Okay great, I'll go and grab my laptop if you want to get Tommy to sit with you' Cheryl said standing up and leaving the room. 'Tommy will you come and sit with Mommy and Cheryl so you can choose what you would like for your room here?'. Tommy jumped up happily running to his mother just as Cheryl entered the room. 'Okay so what colour or theme do you like Tommy?' Cheryl said sitting next to Toni who had the little boy on her lap as she opened up the laptop. He put his finger on his chin as he thought about it 'I like all colours' he laughed. 'But what is your favourite?' Toni questioned. 'I like orange!' he clapped his hands. 'Okay well orange it is' Cheryl smiled pulling up different paints on the Internet ordering the one Tommy liked the best. The redhead let Toni help Tommy choose the bed and furniture he liked ordering it all to come the next day. 'And I guess for a new room you'll need new toys right?' Cheryl said as she searched online toy stores. 'Really!' he said excitedly. 'Really' the redhead nodded. 'But not too much' Toni added knowing her son would want everything and Cheryl would have no issue buying it all for him.
'Okay are you sure they're the toys you really want?' Toni asked when he had added around ten toys to the cart. Toni was concerned with the price but Cheryl said not to worry. 'Yep, thank you Cheryl' Tommy smiled. 'You're welcome' she grinned as she ruffled his hair 'but they're from your mom too'. 'Thank you Mommy' he wrapped his arms around her neck. 'You're welcome baby'. Toni was surprised when Cheryl said the things she had bought for her son were from her as well, it just showed her that Cheryl really did mean well. 'I guess we should get you to bed soon kid, it's getting kinda late and we have a busy day tomorrow' Toni said lifting him up. She walked towards the bottom of the stairs 'are you coming babe?' Toni asked. 'Uh sure' Cheryl smiled standing and following Toni up the stairs. The couple decided to put Tommy in one of the other spare rooms so they could take everything down tonight as he slept. Toni changed Tommy into his pyjamas as the redhead leant against the doorframe. 'Okay come on' his mom said pulling back the duvet for him to crawl in before placing a kiss on his cheek and opening his story book. 'Cheryl come and listen to the story' Tommy said patting the space next to him. Toni smiled at her sweet son before turning to face her girlfriend 'come on, we can't start without you'. Cheryl took a seat next to Tommy and he instantly lent against her. 'So cute' the redhead thought to herself. Toni began reading the story both Tommy and Cheryl chuckled at the silly voices she did for each character. Of course it wasn't long until the little boy had given into sleep leaving Toni and Cheryl creeping out the room and shutting the door behind them as quietly as they could.
