Seventy

It was Friday morning and Cheryl, Toni and Tommy were in the lounge along with Sweet Pea and Fangs waiting for Veronica and Archie to arrive, they said they had organised a ride to the airport so their suitcases were packed up and stood by the door, of course the bright red one was the biggest and Toni asked the redhead if that was really necessary to which she responded with a nod and a smile. 'Are you excited Tommy?' Toni asked as he kept moving to the window and back looking for Veronica and Archie. 'Yes' he said jumping up and down. They had decided to leave on Friday and come back home on Monday, it was Toni's birthday tomorrow so they didn't want to spend that day travelling even though the flight wasn't too long. 'Okay Veronica has text me telling us to wait outside they're almost here' Cheryl said sliding her phone back into her pocket. Tommy literally ran to the door. 'Thomas you need to wait for us, we've got to take all the cases out' Toni said following the little boy as all the adults got up and moved to the door. Cheryl locked the door once they were all out and waited with all the other adults on the sidewalk. What happened next made Cheryl roll her eyes with a smile as everyone else cheered, her best friend was so extra. A limo pulled up with Veronica sticking out of the top of it 'get in guys, Disneyland awaits' she winked at the little boy.

Archie jumped out helping the boys load in the cases while Cheryl and Toni got in the Limo with Tommy. 'Wow this car has a tv' he smiled. 'A limo, really?' Cheryl laughed. 'What? It's Toni's birthday weekend and we're celebrating remember. Not only did Toni win the court case, we are all here and alive, after everything we've all come out of the other side stronger, I think that deserves to be celebrated' Veronica wrapped her arm around her best friend and squeezed her tight. 'Yeah you're right' Cheryl grinned. 'Okay all loaded up' Archie smiled as he took a seat along with Fangs and Sweet Pea. Veronica let the driver know they were ready to go before the car began to move and they all chatted excitedly especially Tommy who was struggling to contain his excitement. The journey to the airport didn't take too long and before they knew it they were unloading their cases, Toni had already warned Tommy that he must stay with her or his mama otherwise he would get lost. Veronica led them to get checked in and in true Veronica Lodge fashion she had booked the VIP lounge. Cheryl and Veronica had been here many times waiting for their flight to be ready but the look on Toni's and her brothers faces showed that hadn't experienced many of these sort of luxuries in their lives. Veronica ordered them all a drink, debating with Cheryl that one alcoholic drink for the adults wouldn't affect her parenting skills. Tommy was even allowed a coke, something Toni and Cheryl didn't usually allow but they were going on holiday so they decided to be a little more lenient.

Tommy's wide eyes were fixed on the glass window watching the planes take off and land as the adults talked about things that didn't interest him. They heard over the speaker that they could begin to board their plane and Cheryl didn't miss the way Toni held her breath. 'You okay?' Cheryl asked her girlfriend as she took her hand in her own. Toni only nodded keeping her eyes forward as they began to board. Tommy wanted to sit next to the window and he was excited when his parents agreed. The redhead got him into his seat and buckled him in before she moved so Toni could sit in the middle and she took the seat next to her. Veronica and Archie on the opposite side of the aisle with Fangs and Sweet Pea in the seats behind them. 'Babe, are you okay?' Cheryl asked again as the engine to the plane started and the colour drained from her face. Again she just nodded and Cheryl was a little concerned, did she have a fear of flying? Cheryl moved her eyes to Tommy who was smiling widely as he bounced his legs while looking out of the window, not even noticing his mom was in distress. The plane began to move and Cheryl was surprised by Toni grabbing her hand tightly as the plane began to lift into the sky. As the redhead looked at Toni she was squeezing her eyes shut tightly. 'Hey, it's okay babe, I know this part is scary but once we get into the air we'll be fine' Cheryl whispered into Toni's ear, hoping her words would bring her some comfort. 'Is Mommy okay?' Tommy asked Cheryl concerned by the way Toni was breathing. 'She's just a little scared sweetheart' Cheryl gave him a little smile. He nodded before looking back at Toni 'It's okay mommy, me and mama will keep you safe'. This boy was too sweet Cheryl thought to herself as the plane began to straighten out and finally Toni opened her eyes.

'Are you okay baby?' Cheryl asked again rubbing Toni's arm as she started to calm down. 'That was fucking scary' Toni whispered before turning to her son 'what did you think baby?'. 'I thought it was fun' he smiled happy now his mom was okay. 'Look we're in the sky' he said pointing out of the window. 'Wow' Toni smiled brightly. 'Are you sure you're okay babe? Are you always like this on planes?' Cheryl asked. 'This is my first time and I'm fine now babe' Toni kissed Cheryl's cheek before looking forward again. 'Wait, you've never been on a plane before?' Cheryl asked. 'Nope, you know my childhood wasn't very stable and then everything with Lukas, I never got the chance' Toni shrugged. 'Oh, of course' Cheryl nodded feeling like an idiot for just assuming. 'But I'm glad my first time is with you' Toni smiled sweetly and now Cheryl didn't feel so bad 'me too TT'. Tommy went to sit with Veronica and Archie for a while leaving Toni and Cheryl alone. 'I think they'll make great parents one day' Toni said quietly to her girlfriend who was also watching the couple with Tommy. 'They will, I don't think Veronica will change too much though' Cheryl smiled. 'Well you didn't when you became a mother to Tommy or did you?' Toni asked. 'Well personality I wouldn't say so but the partying stopped, I also think he's made me a much better person, I don't just have myself to think about anymore. I want to be a good role model for him' Cheryl said turning back towards Toni. 'And you are babe, he really looks up to you' Toni smiled, one which Cheryl matched. 'Have you thought anymore about us having another baby, no pressure though' Toni said carefully. 'I have' Cheryl looked into Toni's eyes nervously 'and I'd love to have a baby with you and give our Tommy a sibling'. 'Really?' Toni tried to hold back her smile until Cheryl confirmed what she had just said. 'Really' Cheryl smiled 'maybe when we get home we can look further into it but can we keep it between us, just in case it doesn't work out'. 'Of course babe' Toni smiled pulling Cheryl into a kiss 'you make me so happy'. 'You make me so happy Antoinette Topaz' Cheryl smiled before leaning her head against her girlfriends.

Soon enough Tommy had to get buckled back into his seat as they prepared to land. Toni tried to keep herself together as she took Cheryl's hand in her own as the plane felt like it was dropping from the sky. Soon enough they felt the plane hit the runway with a thump. Everyone stayed in their seats until they were allowed to take off their seatbelts. 'Okay go to mama, mommies legs are like jelly' she laughed a little as she guided Tommy out of his seat and to the redhead. The heat hitting them as soon as they stepped off the plane. 'Wow it's a lot hotter than Riverdale' Fangs smiled as they made their way into the airport. Cheryl made sure to keep Tommy's hand in hers as the airport got busier while they were waiting for their suitcases. Toni and the boys told the redhead and Veronica to wait at one side with Tommy and they would get the cases. 'Okay I think that's everything' Sweet Pea said as they walked back over to the girls and Tommy. 'Okay, there should be a driver waiting for us to take us to my place' Veronica smiled as everyone grabbed their cases. They walked towards the exit finding a old guy holding up a piece of cardboard with 'Lodge' scribbled on it. 'Here's our ride' Veronica smiled 'let the holiday begin'. Veronica had ordered another limo to take them to her holiday home, she wanted to go all out so her friends had the best time. Tommy had chose to sit next to Veronica for the ride, he was becoming more and more attached to the brunette and Toni was happy he had so many adults that cared about him.

They arrived at a modern villa, the sun was shining and the water in the pool looked amazing. They unloaded their cases before saying thank you to the driver. Veronica opened the gate allowing everyone to drag their cases inside. 'Hey we should all take a selfie' Fangs suggested as he nudged Sweet Pea. 'Yeah let's put all our bags down with our cases' Sweet Pea nodded. Everyone agreed as Fangs pulled out his phone and told them to squeeze in for a photo. 'Say Florida' he yelled, as everyone yelled he snapped the photo before putting his phone into his bag. Suddenly he picked up Toni and began running to the pool. 'Fangs!' she screamed 'put me down!'. Veronica and Cheryl didn't have chance to grasp what was happening either. Sweet Pea had grabbed the redhead and Archie quickly picked up Veronica. 'Don't you dare!' Cheryl yelled as she tried to get out of his grasp. 'Archie I swear you'll sleep in the spare room!' Veronica squealed but Archie only laughed. All of a sudden Toni was plunged into the pool followed by Cheryl and then Veronica. As they came up for air they didn't even have time to yell at the boys before Fangs, Sweet Pea and Archie cannonballed into the pool. Tommy not far behind them fearlessly jumping in the pool and swimming to his uncles. 'I'm gonna kill them' Cheryl laughed looking at Toni. 'Me too babe but first...'. Toni closed the distance between them in a sweet kiss before the boys attacked them with splashes as Tommy giggled.
