Cheryl woke up first the next morning, Toni's arm wrapped carefully around her middle, even in her sleeping form she made Cheryl feel safe. The accident had affected the redhead more than she allowed anyone to see. She swears she remembers hearing Toni talking to her while she was unconscious but she was paralysed and unable to react no matter how hard she tried, it was terrifying. After coming so close to death, or even dying as her heart stopped before the doctors resuscitated her, she thought a lot about her life. The good and the bad. Her outlook on life before Toni and Tommy was completely different to what it was now. Before her life consisted of partying, hooking up with random girls and just existing for a good time, the only person that actually cared about her was Veronica. But now her life was full of love, something she wasn't looking for and something she thought she didn't deserve. A year ago Cheryl would have never have guessed that she would be with the absolute love of her life and a precious little boy she loved as her own. She had a family, her own little team to keep her going through everything life had thrown at her lately and even though it had been rough they pulled through.

'You okay babe? Why didn't you wake me?' Toni asked sitting up and rubbing the sleep from her eyes. 'You looked so peaceful TT, I didn't want to disturb you' Cheryl gave her a small smile. 'Is everything okay?' Toni asked 'you seem a little... sad'. 'I'm fine, I'm just adjusting to not being independent, I'm going to be off my feet for months' the redhead huffed in frustration. 'I know babe but I'm here to help you as much as you need'. 'I know TT and I appreciate you' Cheryl smiled. 'Let me get your medication' Toni said kissing Cheryl's lips before rolling out of bed. She gave the redhead her medication, took her to the bathroom and helped her get back into bed, putting on the tv. As Toni pulled the wheelchair away from the bed the bedroom door slowly pushed open revealing her little boy still half asleep. 'Hey baby' Toni smiled. 'Hi Mommy' he padded over to the bed as he pulled himself up and carefully laid down next to the redhead. 'Good morning sweetheart' Cheryl smiled wrapping her arm around the little boy. Toni loved seeing the pair together, she was glad Tommy had Cheryl, they loved each other so much. 'What do my two favourite people say to breakfast?' Toni smiled. 'Yes please TT' Cheryl smiled. 'How about you Tommy?' Toni asked. 'Yes please Mommy' he nodded against Cheryl's body. 'Do you want to come and help me buddy?' Toni asked knowing he liked to make pancakes. 'No Mommy, I'm going to stay and look after Mama' he said his eyes fixed to the tv. Cheryl looked at Toni with confusion plastered over her face before she realised he was talking about her.

'You're gonna look after your Mama huh?' Toni asked with a smile winking at her girlfriend. 'Yep' he nodded still paying attention to the tv. 'Well okay then, I'll be back soon' she smiled as she headed out of the room. She knew Cheryl was holding in tears at what Tommy had just said and that she didn't really know how to react to it, she be sure to check later that Cheryl was comfortable with the new title. Toni herself didn't mind, she'd never force Tommy to call anyone anything other than their name but if that is how he felt she wouldn't stop him either. Cheryl had been there in all the ways a parent should plus Tommy had already told his friends he had two mommies without any influence from anybody else. After all he was the reason they got together in the first place and he was also the one who pulled Toni to the hospital because Cheryl needed them, he is five years old and Toni couldn't be prouder. She busied herself making breakfast with a smile thinking about her family.

'Here we go' Toni said pushing the door open with her hip, balancing their plates. She placed a plate on Cheryl's lap and then Tommy's on his lap before joining them in the bed with hers. Toni had cut Cheryl's pancakes up like Tommy's so she could easily pick them it with the fork in her unbroken hand. 'Thank you babe' Cheryl smiled. 'Thank you Mommy' Tommy said filling his mouth with food. 'You're both welcome' she said looking at them and turning her attention to the television. Toni was due back at the hospital tomorrow to have her cast off, her hand felt fine now and she was using it the best she could. Tommy was due back to school tomorrow too but she knew it was going to be hard to get him to leave the redhead. They ate in comfortable silence as the tv played, Toni could see Tommy in the corner of her eye constantly looking at Cheryl, as soon as the redhead made eye contact he'd smile and then look away. It was his little way of making sure she was alright and Toni thought it was adorable.

Toni piled up all the plates on her nightstand so she could take them to the kitchen later when she next went downstairs and cuddled in towards Tommy and Cheryl. All of them enjoying being together, it wasn't too long though before Tommy was wiggling around. 'I'm going to go play in my room Mommy' he said looking at Toni as he slid off the bed and ran out of the room as Toni nodded to him. He was running back into the room though no more than a minute later with Rory daggling from his hand. He moved to Cheryl's side of the bed holding out his teddy bear to her. 'Here you go Mama, Rory will help look after you while I play in my room' his little smile melting her heart. 'Thank you Tommy' she smiled accepting it. 'It's okay' he grinned before running back to his room. 'Don't go near the stairs' Toni yelled. 'I won't' he yelled back before shutting his bedroom door. 'So Mama huh?' Toni turned to smile at her girlfriend. 'I didn't realise he was talking about me at first' Cheryl blushed not sure what Toni thought of her son calling her his mama 'how do you feel about it?'. 'I mean, if you don't mind I'm happy for him to call you his mama, you are helping me raise him and he loves you. I think it's really cute' Toni smiled 'but if you aren't comfortable with it I can have a little word with him'. 'No TT, I just wanted to make sure you was okay with it. I didn't think I'd ever raise a child Toni, I didn't want to but now I couldn't think of a better honour than helping you raise Tommy. He really means the world to me, both of you do' Cheryl allowed a tear to roll down her cheek before quickly wiping it away 'although you both make me an emotional wreck with your cuteness'. 'Well we are pretty cute' Toni joked 'but so are you'. She placed a kiss on Cheryl's cheek as they turned back to the tv.

Without noticing Cheryl had fallen asleep, Toni used this time to have a quick shower and clean up her mess from breakfast. She quickly checked on her girlfriend before entering her sons room. 'Hey' she smiled as she sat on the floor next to Tommy. 'Hi Mommy' he smiled. 'What are you doing baby?' she asked as she saw him with paper and his crayons spread around him. 'I'm trying to make a get better soon card' he said frustrated. 'You are?' she asked. 'Yeah but I can't do it' he frowned. 'Of course you can let me help' she said laying on her stomach next to him. She folded a piece of paper making it into a card and handed it over to him. He thanked her with a smile and then started to draw. She watched him draw who she assumed was Cheryl first because of her fiery red hair, then himself linked to her hand and Toni at the other side of her, all with giant smiles on their faces. 'That looks great baby' Toni complimented. 'I have to write inside now' he said flipping the front page. Tommy had learnt how to write letters at school and with the help of Toni and Cheryl at home but he couldn't spell yet. 'Mommy can you help me with writing' he asked. 'Sure, you tell me what you want to write and I'll tell you which letters you'll need okay?'. Tommy nodded as he told his mom a few words at a time and she told him how to spell it. The way he poked his tongue out as he concentrated was too cute, he tried his hardest to keep it as neat as possible but he was five so it did look a little jumbled. Toni hoped the redhead could read it but even if she couldn't she knew Cheryl would love it.

Tommy waited as patiently as he could for Cheryl to wake up and finally she did after a couple of hours. He and Toni were sat downstairs and the redhead had text her letting her know she was awake and that she needed help to go to the bathroom. She told Tommy to wait downstairs for now wanting to make sure Cheryl's needs were met before he followed her. As soon as she had Cheryl back in bed she told Tommy that the redhead was awake and he rushed upstairs and into his room grabbing the card he had made earlier in the day. 'I made you something' he smiled as Toni lifted him onto the bed. 'You did? Thank you sweetheart' Cheryl smiled as he handed her the card. She loved it when Tommy made things for her, almost every drawing was placed proudly on the refrigerator door. She studied the drawing he did on the front, taking in every detail as she pointed to different things saying how much she loved it. Then she opened it and read what the little boy had wrote.

  To my Mama

I hope you get better soon and I am happy you are home. I love you so much. Thank you for being a great mama.

Love from Tommy.

Of course Cheryl couldn't hold back her tears, Toni was relieved that the redhead seemingly managed to read Tommy's handwriting. 'Happy tears?' he asked as Cheryl nodded in response before standing on the bed and wrapping his arms around her neck. Toni couldn't help but hold her breath every time he got too close to the redhead in case he hurt her but she refrained from saying anything knowing Cheryl would only tell her she's fine. 'I love you' Cheryl said as she placed a kiss on his cheek before he pulled away. 'I love you too' he grinned.
