Blinking open my eyes, I realize that I'm asleep on the couch upstairs, the one set before the three hallways. I sit up, immediately noticing the overwhelming amount of noise coming from downstairs. People are talking, and more than one. I stand up slowly, still half awake, forgetting that I don't have my mask on. Not that it really matters anymore... I don't have anything to hide.

Red, if you don't move, the eggs are going to burn," I hear Felix say in a frustrated voice. A few people laugh, but most continue to talk. There have to be at least six people here. I peek around the corner and take in my surroundings. Jund, Snake, and Russ are splayed out on the kitchen floor, talking and playing on Jund's Nintendo DS. Kenz and Marzia are sitting at the bar table, playing on a computer and scrolling through Pinterest fan art of some anime. Red and Felix are laughing and cooking together. The last person makes my jaw drop open. Spoon is sitting on the counter with his legs crossed, wearing one of Felix's hoodies.

"Cry! Hey!" Russ looks up and smiles at me when I edge out from around the corner. "Glad to see you up, man!" He gets up and throws his arms around me, and at first I don't hug back but after a second Jund and Snake join in the hug, then Kenzie and Marzia. I can't help but laugh along after a second of being enclosed. No feeling of claustrophobia, I feel happy.

Happy. What a strange word.

When everyone lets go with surprisingly kind words, I notice Felix and Red watching with small half-smiles. I walk over to them with a confused yet happy feeling.

"Did you guys really plan this?" I ask and Red shrugs with a smirk. I should have known that it was her.

"I promised Felix a surprise. We didn't know how you would react, but everyone wanted to see you... so... welcome back." She smacks me over the head but after kisses my cheek. "Don't you dare leave again, you hear me?"

"Loud and clear," I say, looking at my feet so she doesn't see me roll my eyes. "What is Spoon doing here?" Felix and Horsie look up from the conversation they were having. I see Felix's eyes light up a bit when he looks at me, I don't know why, but he still loves me after all this time. I think that's strange.

"I come to party and eat good food," Spoon says jokingly and I narrow my eyes. Felix's smile falters and he steps closer to Spoon. Our eyes meet and we have a silent conversation.

(should i beat him up?)

(no, don't)

(why?)

(trust me)

"Well, I think you came to the wrong place," I respond but with a grin. Sticking out me hand, Spoon looks at it for a second with wide eyes before taking it. It's strange- Spoon has been through plenty of the shit I have- we have a horrible history with each other, with Ken losing interest in him and going after me... but maybe, if Pewds trusts him... I can, too.

"Aw, you sure? I think you guys are just the epitome of fun." I sit on the counter beside him, and Red and Felix turn away, positive that I won't kill Spoon. "Sorry, you know. For everything." He looks away when I stare at him.

"I don't care anymore." I nudge his shoulder. "Anyways, I should be the one apologizing."

"Yeah, it's only complimentary." The old grin is back, but it quickly fades away. "Do you mind? I mean, if I... if I joined your "side?" If I didn't be with Ken anymore? I've been tired lately, too tired."

"Don't you love the asshole?" I ask. "Isn't that the whole reason you've been with him all this time?" He shrugs and turns to look at Felix. I wonder why, but shrug it off. The two have a weird bond that I do not need to break up.

"Ken isn't really the same person though, is he?" I stare at Felix's chest, finally noticing what he was looking at. "I gave him the necklace, you know. I don't know why I did... I just... did."

"It's goodbye, I think. A goodbye and a hello." I smile at Pewds, but he doesn't notice. The sun is shining through the kitchen window, making his hair look golden and his eyes dance. The best thing? He's mine. After all of this, last night, the running... he's still mine, and I'm thankful.

"So that means yes?"

"Sure, Spoon." I hold up my hand for a high five. "Welcome to the team."

"Hey, I can be your little spy for this side." He lays back on the table. "If you need me to go back, I will. Ken still uses me occasionally." Frowning, I shake my head, but his eyes are closed. Spoon looks more relaxed than I've ever seen him.

"Is he alive?" I ask, holding my breath in.

"He's alive. Your aim was a little off, but barely. The bullet hit his chest." I let my breath out, not sure if I'm relieved or I'm scared. Scared of the next time I see him.

"Is he coming back?" Spoon shrugs and sighs. "You don't know? How do you not know if he wants revenge or not? Not like he was ever good at hiding his emotions..."

"He doesn't talk much anymore. He hasn't done much but eat and sleep lately. Mark takes care of him most of the time, he doesn't want to see me..." Spoon grits his teeth and I can tell his emotions go crazy all of a sudden. "He never wants to see me anymore."

"I'm sorry," I say quietly. Nobody notices us, everyone caught up in their own conversations.

"Don't be." We sit in silence for a while, the only thing being our friends talking before he breaks it.

"Remember that one time where you beat the shit out of me, for calling you it?" He asks and I laugh softly and nod. "Well, I'm sorry about that. I know you hate it when people say it to you, after everything that has happened."

"Apology accepted. Minx said it to me a few months ago, and I nearly killed her. I really wanted to. Where is she, anyway?"

"She doesn't like you much," Spoon comments with a smirk. "She never did."

"I never thought I would come back, but now that I'm here, it's so-" Felix cuts me off by walking up and kissing my cheek. I turn my head, forgetting what I was going to say, and pull him into a full kiss. He makes a sound of happiness and kisses me back. Everyone moves to get food but Felix and I stick to the end of the line.

"Are you happy?" He asks worriedly when I don't say anything, only wrap my arm around his waist. I turn and smile at him, smile more true than I have in a long time. Too long, actually.

"I am. It changed really fast, but I'm happy." He rests his head on my shoulder for a second and I sigh. Red turns and grins, Russ smiling at her side. There's a lot of happiness that is going to go around, I know it.

Things can change this time, I swear.

But that's when the doorbell rings.
