I walked into my first class on a Monday morning, maths with Ms Brooks. I sat in the seat in the far right corner, with only one seat next to me, although I'd rather have no seat next to me as my friends weren't in this class, I would have preferred to sit alone. The class settled and the teacher began the roll call. She got half say through the roll call when William knocked on the door before entering the classroom. Although William was one of the popular kids he was always polite to the teachers.

'William, lets not make a habit of this whole coming to class late thing, now go take a seat.' Ms Brooks told William.

'Alright sorry miss.' William said walking into the classroom. I scanned the whole classroom and there was only two spare seats, next to a nerdy girl at the front who had a massive crush on William, and the seat next to me. He walked straight past the girl at the front and was approaching the desk next to me, I kept reminding myself to keep calm. He came up to the desk next to me and smiled as he looked at me.

'Do you mind if I sit here Shona? I mean as long as noone else is sitting here.' He asked politely.

'Umm, yea, sure.' I answered shakily, I couldn't believe he knew my name.

'Thanks.' He said sitting down next to me.

'Okay, students, go to page 126 on you're textbook, they're getting passed around now, share with your partner, finish all the questions on page 126 then 127 is for homework. Light chatter only students, but if its not finished detentions will occur. Begin work students.' Ms Brooks finished informing the class.

'So, where is all you're friends?' He asked while opening the textbook and placing it between us.

'They're not in this class. What about you, where's all you're friends?' I answered nervously.

'They're not in this class either. We could be friends though, right?' He asked seemingly hopefully.

'Umm, sure, I mean, yea, if you want really want to.' I responded nervously.

'Of course I do, you're really chill, you're not snobby like other girls at this school, you seem intelligent, you're easy to talk to, and you can talk to me without freaking out like many other girls would.' He answered smiling at me.

'Umm thank-you I guess.' I answered quietly.

'Ohh and there was another thing too but I can't tell you what it is.' He responded.

'Why not?' I asked confused.'

'Because I can't.' He answered.

'Yea you can, were friends now right?' I replied.

'Yea, we are, what if I write it down, hows that?' He asked trying to make a deal with me.

'Alright, deal, just hurry up I wanna what it is already.' I answered agreeing to his deal.

'Okay, okay, okay, relax. I'll do it now.' He said tearing a corner of paper from the back of his notebook. He covered it as he wrote on it then handed the note to me. I opened it straight away and read what he wrote, it said......

Shona,

I think you're beautiful.

From William.

I smiled and felt my cheeks go red. I looked at him and I noticed that he was looking at me to see my reaction. I smiled at him and he smiled back.

'You really think so?' I asked hopefully.

'Of course I do, or I wouldn't have said it.' He answered

'Thank-you.' I answered quietly.

That's cute.' He said smiling.

'What?' I asked slightly confused.

'The way you blushed because I said that about you.' He said smiling cutely. I didn't look at him because I knew how badly I was blushing. I heard him tear another piece of paper from the back of his book, he then wrote on it and handed it to me.

Text me next class beautiful?

I nodded my head in agreement and then packed my stuff into my bag. William and I got no questions done, so we either had loads of homework tonight or we got a detention. Although now I think of it, detention with William doesn't seem so bad.

I put my bag over my shoulder and William watched every move I made. Why was he looking at me for? I smiled at him and he smiled back. Everyone had left the classroom and we we're the only ones in the hall.

'Shona, promise you'll text me at the start of next class?' He asked hopefully.

'Okay, I promise.' I said before smiling at him then walking into the other direction down the hall. I looked back once I reached the end of the hall and William was still standing there watching me as I walked away.
