1: Friends Before Fame. (William Singe)

Chapter 57

***WILLIAM'S P.O.V***

Shona and I had decided on singing 3 songs for the kids and I would play the guitar while we sing. I agreed to singing first by myself then she could sing a song by herself afterwards. Then we'd sing one last song together and we hoped that the kids would enjoy it and that the parents wouldn't mind it.

The kids started coming in and there was heaps of them, I mean seriously there was loads of kids and parents and even some nurses coming in. Ben, Robbie, Hayley and Crystal came over to us practically straight away and they were asking us to sing or for us to teach them how to play the guitar. I taught some of the boys some strings while Shona took the girls to go and find some more kids to watch us perform. More kids were coming over pretty quickly and not many of them didn't come over to watch. I took the guitar back off the boys and started getting ready to sing. The kids sat down in front of us and some of the parents even came over and sat with the kids, interested in what we were doing.

'Hey guys, I'm William. Its great to see you all. How many of you guys like music?' I asked and lots of the kids hands went up in the air.

'Okay that's great, so Shona and I are going to sing some songs for you guys today. You can sing along, or dance at the back, or you can clap or whatever, just enjoy yourself okay?' I told everyone and they all nodded and some clapped.

'Okay, so here's what were going to do, I'm going to sing by myself first and then Shona will sing afterwards. Then after that Shona and I will sing a song together, how does that sound?' I asked and I got some goods, greats, awesomes, amazings and a few chanting sing, sing, sing.

I cleared my throat and started strumming the guitar, then began to sing the song I sang on Friday infront of the school, Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer. The kids cheered and started clapping and a few were dancing at the back. The parents seemed to be enjoying seeing the kids so happy and I enjoyed seeing them this happy also. Shona was sitting with Hayley and Crystal and a few other kids and she was encouraging the kids around her to clap. I started to rap and that's when Ben and Robbie seemed like they liked it best. They started cheering and when I finished rapping and the parents were clapping. I finished the song and Shona and the girls around her stood up and clapped and a few parents did. All of the kids stood up and most of the parents did too and I thanked everyone.

Shona came over and she was also singing the song she sang infront of the school the other day, Price Tag by Jessie J. She started singing and Hayley and Crystal seemed super surprised at how good she was and I smiled. Everyone was loving it and this time everyone was clapping earlier than what they were in my performance. I didn't mind that they liked Shona's performance better, I mean she was a million and one times better than me and I wasn't scared or ashamed to admit it. When she finished singing, everyone was cheering, clapping and standing up. Shona deserved it though, she was amazing.

Shona and I prepared to sing our next song together, The Fighter by Gym Class Heroes and Ryan Tedder. (★★★A/N sorry guys but I'm not going to write out the lyrics to this song because I don't know all the words and because it will take up extra space. :/ sorry.★★★) To Shona and I all these kids were fighters so this song was kind of for them, but it was just whether they took it that way or not. I started playing the chords and then started rapping. I did the rapping while Shona sang the chorus to perfection. Everyone was enjoying it and it was great to be able to see the kids so happy.

Shona went and spoke to Hayleys parents and then to see some nurses and tried convincing them into letting Robbie and Ben share a room. I stayed with some of the kids playing a few songs for them or letting them play the guitar themselves if they wanted to. Robbie and Ben were acting like they were best friends, as if they were brothers and known each other forever. Shona came back over with some of the girls following behind her and they joined in our conversation, and none of us had a problem with it. We stayed for another half an hour before the kids had to go back to their wards. Yeah, I'll admit it was hard saying goodbye to them, I mean, you could see them for the last time today, anything could happen to some of these kids with the illness some of them were suffering from.

I hugged Hayley goodbye last and she whispered 'no surgery' before I let her go. I looked at her as if to say really then looked at Shona.

'The heart they were going to use is too big for her.' Shona explained.

'Ohh.' I responded understanding everything now.

'Come on Hayley let's go sweety.' Her mother said as she walked over to us. 'There should be more kids in this world like you two. Spending part of your weekend here, and these gifts I hear about, absolutely amazing kids you two.'

'Thank you.' I replied.

'Thanks. We do what we can.' Shona responded and she smiled then left with Hayley and most likely her dad. We were now alone in the now messy play centre and Shona started tidying things so I started to do the same thing. After 10 minutes of solid cleaning we were both finished and the room looked just as tidy as it did when we walked in.

'Great job Shona.' I said as I put my arms around her from behind as she put the last toy in place.

'Thanks William.' She responded as she relaxed in my arms and rested her head on my chest. 'Thanks for everything today.' She started to continue but I stopped her by kissing her cheek.

'No problem, don't mention it beautiful, anything for you and these kids.' I stated and I seen her smile.

'You're the best William.' She replied and that made be smile.

'I'm not the best Shona, do you know why?' I asked.

'Yeah, why, what's you're excuse?' She responded.

'I'm not the best because I'm taken by the best.' I answered and she smiled while shaking her head no.

'So tell me again, when in this relationship are you going to start telling the truth?' I asked.

'I have been 100% honest with you since the day we started talking Shona. When are you going to start believeing me when I compliment you?' I responded and she smiled.

'When I start seeing the things you compliment me on by myself.' She answered. 'Now come on, before we get asked to leave.' She stated and tried to remove my hands from around her. I found it slightly amusing to watch her try and make me move my hands. 'Come on William, we gotta go.' She tried to convince me still trying to make me move my hands and I laughed slightly. 'Okay, okay, I admit it, I have nowhere near as much muscles as you.' She confessed and I smiled hugely. 'Please William, can we go now?' She pleaded and I gave up and she kissed my cheek. 'Thank you.' She stated and smiled before I took her hand and walked towards the door.

We went back down to the first floor and we quickly said goodbye to Linda before we left. We went back out to my car and as usual I opened the door and let her in before going and getting in myself. I took Shona back to the place we were last week when we came back from seeing the kids at the hospital. That's when I remembered that she said that she wanted to tell me something later. I just hoped that it wasn't anything bad, or something that I done, what if I was going too quickly for her, what if she wanted to break up with me, what if she had to confess something to me. What if she told me something and I had to comfort her, but I know already I'm not good at it. What if she wanted me to convince her of something, because I don't think I'm that good either. Mann, with all these negative thoughts running crazy in my head I nearly forgot to take turn to get to the right spot, damn I gotta stop letting these negative thoughts overrun my brain.....
