1: Friends Before Fame. (William Singe)

Chapter 8

***SHONA'S P.O.V***

As soon as I got to the table at lunch my friends bombarded me with questions about where I was at first lunch.

'Where were you at lunch?' Alexis asked.

'I went to lunch with a friend.' I answered simply.

'Wait you mean you went out to lunch with a guy?' Niki asked moving her eyebrows suggestively.

'Yea, I went out with a guy friend for lunch, that's it.' I answered and they both looked at me wanting further details.

'Continue...' they said waiting for more. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I read the message.

WILLIAM: 'hey beautiful, I just got questioned about where I was at lunch I told them I went out with a friend and they knew it was a girl but I didn't tell them who. What did you're friends say?'

ME: 'hey, I said I went to lunch with a guy friend and now they want more details, should I tell them?'

'His name isn't William is it?' Alexis asked while leaning over my shoulder. I put my phone back into my pocket and blushed looking around the cafeteria trying to hide my face from them.

'Come on Shona, please tell us, were you're best friends, you can tell us anything, remember.' Niki pleaded. William texted back and I got my phone out and read the text.

WILLIAM: 'yea, if you want to you can, I don't mind.'

ME: 'Thanks. I just wanted to make sure before I said anything.'

'Okay, okay, I'll tell you, don't spread it around though alright?' I said looking at both Niki and Alexis. They both nodded and I sighed.

'William Singe asked me to go to lunch with him, but just as friends.' I said quietly. They both squealed half quietly and then I got them to calm down. They both looked at me waiting for more details and they weren't going to know too much more. 'He asked me to sign up with him for the talent competition coming up, then he asked me to go out to lunch so we could get to know each other better and I asked if it was just as friends and confirmed it. So were just friends, nothing more, I promise.' They both smiled at me me then they seemed to be looking behind me. I turned around and then seen William looking at me. When he seen me looking he smiled so I smiled then turned back to the girls.

'Ahhh.' They half screamed together. I just shook my head and laughed.

WILLIAM: 'are they okay?'

ME: 'yeah, they're fine, just being ordinary teenage girls, I guess.'

WILLIAM: 'haha, okay.'

I turned back to the girls and then we went back to casual conversation in-between William and I texting. We were talking about random things as we usually do and before I knew it the bell rang.

I met up with William outside the history like we both agreed to do. Our teacher came and let everyone into the classroom and William and sat at the very back of the class. The teacher started talking and I was trying to focus on the teacher but I kept having this weird feeling that William was watching me. Everytime I looked at him he would smile then pretend to be paying attention to the teacher.

About half an hour through the lesson Tamika walked in. She didn't even say a word to the teacher, she just walked in and gave me a death stare then went sat on the other side of the room.

'Tamika, why are you late?' The teacher asked.

'I had better things to do than be here.' She snapped back.

'*cough* Yea, she had a quickie in the stairwell. *cough*' Williams friend, Chad said and everyone laughed.

'That so didn't happen.' She said on a really girly tone. 'That's something that $!ut over there would do.' She said pointing at me. She started laughing but she was the only one laughing.

'Excuse me?' I said.

'Ohh, I'm sorry, I mustn't have said it slowly enough for you, I said...' she responded but got cut off half way through.

'Don't talk about her like that.' William jumped in.

'Yea, we all agree.' Chad added.

'You and you're two little rag doll followers are the only $!uts in this school.' Will continued.

'Yea, she's real unlike you and you and you're fake friends, coming to school everyday like you've been dipped in a bag of dorittos.' Ryan continued on.

I was in shock that everyone was on my side, all the popular kids were standing up for me because I've been hanging out with William. I can't believe that this is happening and the teacher isn't even doing anything about it. But I guessed that he wanted to see Tamika get treated this after everything she puts all the teachers through.

'Whoa, wait a minute, since when are all of you on her side?' She asked angrily.

'Since when has anyone ever been on you're side? Chad responded and everyone laughed even the teacher.

'And why are you standing up for the $!ut?' Tamika asked, directing the question at William.

'Because, I'm standing up for her because she's real, she a million and one times more beautiful than you, her personality is 100% real, not fake and she's not covered in make up. I'd stand up for anyone except you and I'm sure everyone in this room agrees.' He responded looking down at me and I smiled and blushed slightly.

'I really doubt that.' She responded.

'Okay then, let me prove my point. Raise you're hand if you'd stand up for anyone except Tamika.' Everyone raised their hands, even the teacher. She got up, walked up to me and gave me a death stare and a death threat to go with it.

'You will all regret this, I will get revenge on you, lets see how you handle things this afternoon down by the back gates. Well see who everyone stands up for then. Goodbye $!ut.' She said before walking out and slaming the door shut.

'Everyone, spread the word, after school, back gate, team Shona or team $!ut. If you're not team Shona, don't turn up.' Chad said to the whole class. Everyone pulled out their phones and my phone was vibrating like crazy in my pocket. There was tweets, Facebook messages and text messages saying team Shona all the way, team $!ut doesn't stand a chance, entire school vs 3, game over $!uts.

William texted me 'don't worry beautiful, everything's gonna be fine, we've got this covered, trust me.' I was slightly nervous but then again, all the popular kids stood up for me just then and everyone was against her, so why would things change, I thought.
