Chapter Fourteen - Care
For the next few days following their time alone, Percy and Baby seemed to have built an instantaneous bond of friendship.
They were practically joint at the hip, wherever Baby was, Percy loomed behind her. That was partly due to the fact that Colin was home with the flu.
“I'm pretty sure Colin can take care of himself.” Percy mumbled to himself as he trudged up the porch steps of his arch nemesis (yes, Colin was now his arch nemesis, he decided on it because he didn't like Colin's face) behind Baby who skipped her way to the front door and flung it open.
She called out into the posh middle class home, “Colin! — Coliiiiiiin.”
Percy stuck his hands into his pockets as he kicked the door shut behind him, peering around the unfamiliar home.
His lips pursed when he passed a picture of Colin and Baby a few years younger, pulling faces at the camera while Colin hugged Baby from behind.
Four pictures later, Percy was ready tear Colin's house apart...
“I'll be back in a minute, Colin must be asleep.”
Shaking his head, Percy followed Baby up the stairs of the house.
'No way am I letting those two be alone together. I've come this far. Fuck Colin.' He huffed to himself.
The pair reached a dark grey door and Baby opened the door slowly and peeked inside, she turned slightly and whispered, “His asleep. Come on, and be quiet.”
She tiptoed into the room and Percy rolled his eyes.

“I collected all your homework for you and I asked a few of your teachers...”
Colin sat cosied up in a fluffy blanket while Baby sat close next to him on his bed. He stared at Baby as she spoke, not getting a word of anything she said.
Percy glared at the brunette boy, the harmless expression on the boys face wasn't fooling him at all.
“... Also, Brielle in your math class totally has a crush on you,” Baby clapped her hands and smiled dreamily, “She's so sweet, she came up to me at lunch and asked if you were going to be okay.”
Colin frowned confusedly, “Brielle?”
Baby gasped, “Oh my gosh Colin, she's been in your class since 8th grade... She's the pretty redhead that brings you a blueberry muffin every Monday morning.” She rolled her eyes in a 'boys are so dumb' way and turned to Percy.
“You know Brielle right?”
Percy shrugged.
Baby let out a frustrated huff and pulled her phone out of the pocket of her school skirt.
She tapped furiously on her phone and then she turned the screen towards Colin.
Colin hummed, “Oh, Hardy?”
A snort left Baby's mouth, “Why do you not know her name?”
“I dunno, I never really called her Brielle before.”
Baby facepalmed.
Narrowing her eyes she murmured, “I'll forgive you for that just cause you're sick.”
♥️
When Colin fell asleep again, Baby kissed his cheek and stepped out of his bedroom to join Percy downstairs (he left after realizing he was totally third wheeling).
Baby found him in the kitchen, his elbow propped up on the countertop and his free hand cradling his phone.
"What's up buttercup?” Baby quipped.
Percy snorted, “Nothing Sugarpuff.”
