BRIELLE awoke to a heavy arm slinging over her waist, securing itself lazily against the thin material of her old Motley Crüe t-shirt, her very own pajama top substitute.
She strirred lightly, reaching a free hand out to clutch the cold surface of her phone. The time taunted her: 6AM. Her eyes burned in yearning for more sleep, but the arm around her was emitting too much heat for her to relax. She turned to glare at the face of the culprit.
“Do you know what time it is?” She whispered harshly.
Colin hummed softly and pulled her closer to his chest, throwing a leg over hers, “Cuddle time.”
A frustrated groan left the girl, she huffed and tried to pry his arm off her. He whined and clung to her like a second skin, his free hand getting tangled in her hair and his body rolling over hers.
They ended the silent struggle in a compromising positon. Colin pressed against Brielle, one of his legs in between hers and her own legs still trapped between her sheets.
Hair covered half of her face and Colin laughed despite the heat that crept up his neck, “I'm sorry.”He apologized lamely as he pushed her hair from her eyes and stared into her irritated gaze.
She didn't bother moving, instead questioning him, “Why are you bothering me this early?”
Colin grinned childishly, “It's Saturday, and you usually make pancakes for breakfast.” His eyes admired the girls frown, her perfect cupids bow prominent and her bottom lip jutting in a pout he knew she has no idea she had.
“What does the cuddling have to do with breakfast?” Brielle enquired.
He couldn't explain himself. A wave of embarrassment washed over him and in another impulsive gesture, he buried his face in her neck. The initial reaction to that was a tense hand landing on his back, then before he drew away, Brielle laughed.

A comfortable silence reigned in the kitchen that morning, sunlight casting a joyful atmosphere over the pair who on normal days bickered and nagged one another when in an enclosed space.
Today was a rare day of peace.
Until Collin interrupted that.
"You think Baby will be okay on her own?” He wondered aloud.
Brielle briskly passed him on her way to the stove, “She always is.”
It wasn't jealousy that led her anymore, Brielle had left her childish streaks behind a long time ago. Baby was her friend now too. Any feelings for Collin were pushed aside when it came to Baby.
“Quit worrying, we have her address and we can take some housewarming gifts to her later.”
Collin hummed to himself. But his head churned with anxiety.
His eyes trailed the wild waves of Brielle's glossy red hair, she let it grow out over the years. The tips caressed her hips now, and Collin took in a deep breath of 'be still my heart' oxygen when he caught himself admiring all the intricacies of his very platonic girlfriends familiar curves.
Over the years, despite being encouraged by Percy and Brielle, the man had never bothered to take time and look around. Finding love would feel like a betrayal to... Brielle.
'She doesn't see you the way you see her... All she sees is the annoying guy she lives with. A mutually beneficial relationship. No, friendship.'
Despite being encouraged to find love, Collin knew that he wouldn't find love anywhere else but home. And home was Brielle.
