The club's vibrant atmosphere did nothing to ease the tension in my shoulders. Abbie was here with me for the second day in a row. My men still didn't trust her, and I worried that it would cause an out-roar. Abbie's shoulders were slumped down along with her head, trying to make herself feel smaller.

"Don't show any weakness in front of them," I whisper in her ear, causing her to shudder.

There was sexual tension between us since we never finished what we started this morning. The memories Abbie was telling me caused my hard-on to deflate. Even after having her last night, I still wanted more. There's something about Abbie that I have never experienced before, I can't get enough of her. Her azure blue eyes captivate me in, like a siren in the sea.

"Do you want me to head into your office?" Abbie asks.

I hadn't realized that I was standing still, staring into the distance. My men were all staring at me expectantly, waiting for an order.

"Come on." I place my arm over Abbie's shoulders and start making my way to the office. My men could wait for further command.

Before I enter my office, I look over at Ryder and tilt my head in command for him to enter the office too. Seeing as he is now involved with whoever is after Mason, it's only fair to have him in on the conversation.

"Hey Ryder, how are you doing?" Abbie beams at Ryder.

"I'm doing good."

"I'm still really sorry about you getting hit by the car." She says.

"Don't worry about it, I came out alive." Ryder winks.

A possessive growl comes out of my chest, both Abbie and Ryder look my way. A knowing and smug look all over Ryder's face while Abbie's cheeks go bright red.

"Anyway." I move on. "I have a feeling that whoever is after Mason was linked with you getting ran over by a car."

"So what are you trying to do about it?" Ryder asks.

"We need Abbie to describe the person that came to the door to get an idea of who is after Mason."

"Why are we helping Mason?" Ryder complains.

"Because he's my brother!" Abbie snaps.

"He's trying to get you killed."

"He just needed some help, that's all." She whispers.

"Abbie, he can get the money himself, he just wants other people to do the work for him to avoid getting in trouble or so he can lay down on the low."

"He's still my brother."

I slowly crouch down in front of Abbie, so we are eye level with each other. "It doesn't matter anymore. If he has been refusing to pay his debt for over six months now, they will kill him."

"They can't."

"They can and they will. I'm sorry Abbie."

Tears shimmer in her eyes but they refuse to fall. A sense of admiration comes over me, no matter what hits her, she will always stand back up.

"There's something else we need to tell you." Ryder interrupts.

I turn my gaze to Ryder and glare him down. We weren't supposed to tell Abbie yet, it could hurt her further.

"Your cousin tried to steal money from us yesterday."

The upset Abbie was feeling is quickly replaced with cold, hard anger.

"Tell me you killed him?" She seethes.

Out of all reactions, I expected her to have, anger was not one of them.
