'That was a close one, Lucas, but now we'll keep an eye on you 24/7 and we won't leave you alone with just one human.' Dejun said. Kunhang was next to him, nodding his head.

Lucas was laying on his back, legs up and feet touching the top of the cage. They'd punished him for attacking Dejun by locking him in the smallest cage. Him, being the giant he was, could barely fit in there.

Not that he cared, though. He didn't use to be very flexible, but being a vampire had its advantages such as being able to stay in unexpected positions such as the one he was in now. One of his arms was under his head and the other one kept playing with the cage's bars making an annoying sound.

The vampire played deaf and pretended not to hear nor care about Dejun's words. In response, the human harshly stabbed a syringe in Lucas' neck.

The taller felt his body go numb and suddenly, he could not move an inch. He couldn't even blink, he was totally paralyzed. He saw Kunhang handling Dejun a... couple of... weird patches? Connected to... wires? What the hell was that???

Dejun placed those patches, one on each of his temples, and Kunhang clicked on a switch.

'Uhm... We'll start with this. You couldn't attend these lessons, right? I... I'll try my best to explain.'

Chenle nodded at Sicheng's words. They were in their library, Chenle's math book open in a certain page and his notebook ready to take some notes.

'Okay so, they give you an equation and you have to prove whether it's right or wrong. I think it's best if you start by simplifying the longest one and if you get stuck in the process then try to develop the simpler one.'

Chenle bit the tip of his pencil anxiously.

Where the fuck do I start? Did Jisung feel that way when I helped him study?

He looked at Sicheng for help and luckily the older got the message.

'Take a look. You can take all this and divide it by this, and then you can cross out all these. And if you remember this, you can use it to simplify this expression. Since those are being multiplied by the same number, you can just do this and this, and then this, and voilà! Here it is!'

Sicheng's hand worked faster than Chenle's brain did. He felt his braincells were fried by now. Sicheng somehow managed to reduce a long ass expression to another that was way shorter and identical to the other expression that completed the equation. Chenle stared at the paper in awe.

Damn... No wonder everyone says Sicheng is a genius. He makes everything look so easy! I wonder what would happen if he tried to teach Jisung.

'It's your turn, you have to solve these.' Sicheng took another paper and started to write long equations down without barely blinking, it was almost as if his hand wrote them itself.

Did he memorise my whole textbook or..?

Chenle hesitantly took his pencil and stared at the first equation, not really knowing where to start.

'I don't get why you would do this to him.'

'He is a vampire, Yangyang, we can't treat him like we treat a human.'

'But we can't treat him like we treat other vampires, Chittaphon, he's not just any vampire!'

'Why? Just because you two share a past?'

'Exactly!'

'That's not how it works. I wish it was that easy, but you know it isn't. You need to let go of him, he isn't any different from other vampires. He will eventually lose control, and if you don't let go now it will hurt even more.'

'He's not like that! He knows how to control himself.'

'All vampires are the same, they look like civilised people until they smell a drop of blood and then they turn into uncontrollable predators. Yangyang, you've been helping us with this for so long, I just don't understand why it's so hard for you to do the same this time. I thought you had matured, that you weren't a kid anymore. You helped us kidnap vampires by providing us the information, you helped us get information by interrogating them even if that meant torturing them, you even physically fought vampires. Then, why? Why is it do hard for you to understand that we have to treat all vampires equally?'

'Because it's Yukhei we're talking about!'

'Yang-'

'We're talking about Yukhei, I know him! I've known him for so long and I trust him! And I know that no matter what he will never hurt me or Chenle! And if you weren't keeping him like you kept the rest of vampires I know he would never hurt you.'

'Yangyang, you can't do this. You can't trust people blindly because of their past. People change. A vampire's brain works in a different way and you cannot predict what they will do according to what they would have done if they were human. Can't you see it, Yangyang? I'm just trying to protect you! I'm doing this for your own good, because I don't want you to be attacked by him.'

'You know nothing, Chittaphon. Nothing! You don't know Yukhei, you don't know him! You never paid attention to him anyways, how would YOU know him?' Yangyang stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut and completely ignoring the older calling his name.

Admin right here :D
