'Congratulations, Park Jisung. You almost got killed stupidly and thanks to you they have Baekhyun now.' Taeyong said sarcastically.

'Don't be like that, he's hurt enough. Besides, Baekhyun is safe. They won't hurt a human.' Doyoung tried to calm Taeyong down.

Jisung looked down. He felt guilty. He had put his friends in danger and, for what?

'I didn't ask you all to come, though.'

'Yeah, and let another Park be murdered. An amazing idea. What is your middle name, genius?' Taeyong sassed back.

'Tae, calm down. Will you? You've been so aggressive lately...' Jaehyun said.

'Well, it was about time you spoke to me, don't you think?'

'You fucking deserved it for being an asshole.'

Taeyong huffed and avoided Jaehyun's gaze.

Chenle woke up in a dark room. He didn't know where he was, but there was a bandage around his ankle. He tried to get up but he fell as soon as he did so.

'Listen, the human is awake.' He heard a voice say. 'What do we do with him now? Cook his entrails?'

'Taeyong, shut the fuck up!' Chenle heard Jisung shout. He heard a chair being moved back harshly and footsteps approaching the room he was in.

Jisung knocked softly on the door. 'Chenle? Are you awake?'

No answer.

Chenle ignored the vampire. The vampire, however, could hear the sigh the human let out. He opened the door and sneaked into the dark room.

'Hey, Chenle. I know you're awake.'

'Why?'

'What?'

'Why are you defending me?'

'I...'

'I tried to kill you, Jisung. Why are you still defending me?'

'I... I don't know Chenle. There's just something that tells me I should...'

'You're crazy.'

'I know. But I'm crazy for you.'

'Gross.' Chenle tried to get up from the floor once again but failed miserably. Jisung picked him up softly and laid him on what seemed like a soft mattress.

Jisung left the room and locked the door behind him.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Park Jisung?

'You should be grateful. Chenle saved you from those vampires.' Yangyang said. Baekhyun, Yuhkei and him were in their living room.

'He didn't save me. Those vampires are my friends.'

'They what?'

'They're my friends. They would never hurt me. They're nice, they protected me for so long...'

Yukhei sat in silence as he saw the two talking.

'That isn't possible. Vampires are monsters. Humans and vampires aren't bound to live together. It's fate, one of us will inevitably be eliminated by the other.'

'That's not true! Vampires and humans have to learn to live together!'

'Why are you so determined to defend them?'

'I love them.'

'How can you love vampires? They're not humans! That's not natural.'

'Love has no race. And if you think otherwise then fuck you.'

'Love does have race. Vampires are predators. They will only use you as a food source.'

'Humans aren't a food source. Humans are just as important as vampires are.'

'Huh?'

'That's what Chanyeol always said.' Baekhyun's eyes started getting teary.

'Chanyeol? As in, Park Chanyeol?'

Baekhyun nodded. Yangyang took his hand and signaled for the older to follow him.

'You and I need to have a nice chat.'

'Jeno heard your conversation with Chenle and thought it was better if we came just in case.'

'It was unnecessary, Jaemin...'

'No, it wasn't. We were lucky we outnumbered the humans. You know if humans had outnumbered us none of us would be alive by now.'

'I'm sorry for putting you in danger...'

'It's okay. You're crazily in love with that human, aren't you?'

Silence.

'You don't have to say it. I see it in your eyes.'

Jisung groaned in frustration.

'I shouldn't be like this, specially after he tried to kill me and he hurt my friends...'

'Hey, it's okay. None of us can control emotions.'

'I don't know what to do, Jaemin. He will never like me back... I never told you, but I... I made a lot of mistakes in the past... He has the right to hate me.'

'Who would even hate you? You're such a good guy and-'

'No, I really am not. I haven't always been like this. Besides, when it comes to Chenle... I don't know, I transform into some kind of monster...'

'You're not a monster, Jisung.'

'But I'm a vampire, and-'

'We're all vampires here. Well, except fro Chenle. Vampires aren't monsters.'

'Jaemin... You were a human before, right?'

'Yeah, Jeno turned me into a vampire.'

'What does it feel like?'

'Huh?'

'What does being a human feel like?'

'Why do you want to know?'

'I want to understand Chenle, I need to understand how he feels. I want to win him over, hyung. I need to.'

'Uhm... Well... Actually, being a vampire isn't THAT different from being a human...'

'It isn't?'

'No. Vampires just happen to be stronger. I don't know. When I became a vampire I felt stronger. And it's more difficult for me to be intimidated.'

'Do you think Chenle is afraid of me?'

'Jisung, you need to understand you're way stronger than him. And that can be scary to humans because they can't control what you do.'

'Why would Chenle need to control me?'

'I don't know. But if he didn't he wouldn't be scared of you. Fear is a natural reaction when humans feel they have no control over something. Chenle might have trust issues and think you're going to kill him or something.'

So... Chenle being like that is my fault? Jisung thought. Is it because of me that he's scared of vampires? Is it my fault he hates vampires so much?
