'P-please stop!'
His heart was beating at a fast pace, he didn't want to die. Not yet. He tried to push the guy away, but he was much stronger and didn't move an inch. The merciless creature kept on sucking his blood, it was sweet, addicting. The pain he felt on his neck was practically unbearable, he felt like he was going to faint.
'P-lease...'
Having his blood sucked out of his body was literally draining the life out of him. His limbs didn't respond to his orders anymore, he felt numb. Nonetheless he still fought to survive. He screamed with the strength he had left.
'Someone, please. Save me!'
'Chenle, shoot.'
Yukhei was holding the weakened vampire, waiting for Chenle to shoot. Chenle blinked twice and shook his head slightly to focus on the weapon instead of his old memories.
Bang
His grip wouldn't have been enough to hold down the blood sucker much longer. The tall male was partly relieved for having killed the vampire and partly disappointed that Chenle had took so long in shooting. 'Spacing out again?'
Chenle kept quiet as they put the cold corpse in a bag and carried it inside their vehicle. The ride was silent, Yukhei wasn't feeling talkative and Chenle was still recalling his memories.
'What on earth is wrong with you, Chenle? You've done this before. I don't get why-'
'Ugh... I was just remembering old stuff.'
Yukhei parked the vehicle in the underground parking, got out and helped Chenle carry the dead body. They got into the elevator and the shorter male pressed the button to the third floor. They went directly to Dejun's lab. Yukhei opened the bag and practically threw the corpse on the table like it weighed nothing.
Dejun let out a soft laugh and patted Yukhei's shoulder. 'Good job Xuxi.'
Yukhei's expression changed abruptly and he smiled brightly. 'So...'
'He's a regular vampire. Quite healthy, I must say.' Dejun explained as he touched and observed the corpse. 'Why did you kill him? It would be much more useful if you'd brought him alive.'
'He was being too troublesome. I almost got bitten and I didn't want to risk being infected since we didn't know whether he was a pure blooded vampire or not.' Chenle was kinda annoyed. He hated being questioned.
Chenle and Yukhei let Dejun do his job alone and exited the room, heading towards Kun's office. Once they arrived, they heard their leader and Chittaphon discussing.
'The pro vampires are making their way into the government. They started persuading different parties into banning anti-vampire weapons.' The thai one informed.
'Vampires are a plague. I still don't know why they won't let us eradicate them. Our society would be way safer.' Kun argued. Despite his harsh words, his face remained expressionless.
'Yeah, but not everyone thinks the same. Our party is losing credibility. Plus, I've heard those blood suckers have started developing contact lenses not to let sunlight harm their eyes.'
'That's very inconvenient. We won't be able to use daylight to our advantage with regular vampires.'
The two assassins interrupted them. 'Kun, Chittaphon. We're back.' Chenle was the first one to get into the room.
'So, how was it?' The leader questioned.
'We killed a vampire. The intention was to bring him alive, but he offered too much resistance so we had no other option than to end his life.' Chenle looked down as he spoke. He knew their leader didn't like changing plans at all.
'Chittaphon, make sure this doesn't get to the press. We don't want more trouble.' Kun ordered.
Dejun had opened up the dead corpse. He was experimenting with the organic tissues and testing the weapons Kunhang had developed recently. He sent some samples of tissue to Sicheng and filled a report to upload into their database. He updated all his notes about vampires adding a few points he'd just discovered.
• Vampires' ears are way more sensitive than human ones. Loud sounds that make human ears uncomfortable can harm vampires to the point their ears bleed.
He glanced at his watch, it was quite late. He placed everything nicely in the lab, turned off the lights and got out, locking the door. As he was walking through the hallways he heard a loud thump from Kunhang's lab, followed by several impacts he supposed were Kunhang's recently developed weapons colliding against the floor.
'Someday you're gonna tear down this entire building.' He mocked as he opened the door to Kunhang's lab. He found Kunhang on the floor, he was soaked in a transparent liquid and surrounded by broken pieces of different materials. 'Man, what happened?'
'I- I t-took the bskddjddvdjwbd and t-then i slipped on the floor wjsbdjddbdjsb' Kunhang's explanation was completely incomprehensible, but his laugh while trying his best to say what happened was so contagious Dejun couldn't help but to laugh with him. They didn't realise how scandalous they were until Sicheng appeared from behind Dejun, holding his notebook with a few papers sticking out from it asking what o earth was going on.
'Guys, what are you doing? It's late, Kun will scold us for not leaving early again.'
'S-sorry, it's just t-that Kunhang djdskdndkdbxudnksn-'
Sicheng shyly giggled as he saw his two partners laughing their asses off.
Jisung's eyes got glassy as he received the news. He hugged the older male who was crying his eyes out for his loss.
'B-but Sungie, h-he was so nice a-and he always treated me nicely... Why? Why him?'
