Lily woke up cold and in the dark, she heard the door unlock and it made her sit up more. Her mother walked downstairs, hitting the light switch on her way down while Lily waited on her.

"Hi Lily" her mother spoke.

"Hey" she spoke lowly, feeling her heart sink down to her stomach.

She didn't know what to expect from her mother so she didn't know what to say or do. Her mother sat beside her on the bed.

"Lily you know I love you right?" She asked her and Lily just nodded, not wanting any trouble.

"Then why would you leave me to be with some boy?!" She began to yell making Lily jump.

"I'm talking Lily, that means you answer in case you've forgot" she spoke calmly.

"H-He loves me too" Lily spoke making her mother chuckle.

"There's no way, he got you to lie on Dre so I had to let you go" she spoke making Lily furrow her eyebrows.

She wondered why she still thought all of that was a lie.

"He didn't do that momma, Dre did actually do that" she told her and her mother smacked her teeth.

"Lily there's no way-" she started but Lily cut her off.

"Momma he did it" Lily spoke again making her mother sigh.

"Okay Lily" she spoke before standing from Lily's bed and walking towards the stairs.

"Momma" she called before she completely left.

"Yes?" Her mother asked, peeking around the corner.

"I'm hungry" Lily told her and she nodded.

"I'll go get you something to eat" she told her and she nodded.

She missed her mother acting like this, like she cared about her. It was silent for awhile before she heard footsteps on the stairs and her mother showed up.

"Here baby you don't have a thick enough cover" her mother told her and she took the cover.

She got underneath the cover, getting a wiff of Stokeley's shirt which made her chest hurt. She missed him so much and wanted to be with him at the moment but knew she'd have to be out if her mothers house before she got to see him again.

Her mother came back downstairs with chicken nuggets and tater tots for her with honey mustard.

"Thank you momma" she smiled, taking the plate.

She nodded "and here's your juice baby, goodnight. I'll come check on you in the morning before I leave" she assured her making her nod and smile.

"Okay I love you" she told her before her mother left the basement and there was no lock heard after.

She was trying to figure out what was going on with her mother though. Her whole life her mother was her biggest supporter and showered her in love but that night she had hurt her and the dinner was awkward but today, she loved her.
