Joey and Jawsay stayed and talked to us for a little longer after we ate but then Joey said she had to go so that meant Jawsay had to go I guess.
"Y'all coming to the house later?" Daddy asked and Jawsay shrugged.
"We'll see how this goes" he told daddy and he nodded.
"Nice meeting you Lily" Joey spoke making me smile.
"It was nice meeting you too" I told her with a smile and she smiled back.
"Nice meeting you too Stokeley" she smiled at him at him and he smiled back.
"Nice meeting you too Joey" he told her before they walked out.
I looked out the window and watched as they got in the car seeing Joey pick up her stitch before she sat down making me turn to daddy who was putting his food in to go boxes.
"Daddy why do you think Joey keeps her plushy in Jawsay's car?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Maybe so it can smell like him or some weird Shit that girls say" he told me and I shook my head.
"She's a little sometimes, she loves plushies I know because she asked about mine while she was one today. So why does she keep it with Jawsay?" I asked.
He shrugged before putting money on the table and standing up and then waiting for me. I stood up too and followed him out of the door.
"Lily that's none of our business, don't be in they business" he told me making me pout.
"But daddy they're both my friend I have to find out why" I told him and he shook his head as he opened my door.
I sat down and put my seatbelt on, waiting for him to get in the car.
"Lily I'm not going to tell you again. If they want to tell you, they'll tell you" he told me.
"I mean Jahseh is my best friend and he told you he started dating a little before me so who knows he might tell you soon" he rolled his eyes making me giggle.
"Daddy are you jealous that Jawsay told me about Joey first?" I asked him and he sucked his teeth.
"I mean he is my best friend" he told me.
"He didn't just come and tell me though I found the plush in his car and asked to meet her" I told him and he nodded.
"He still should've told me when they started talking, that's what he does with other girls he messes with" he continued to complain.
"We'll when I asked he said he really really liked Joey maybe he didn't say anything so soon because he wanted to wait and see" I told him and he nodded.
Daddy rode past the school which meant that my old house was coming up making me close my eyes tightly. I can't and I won't look at that terrible house.
"I'm sorry baby I didn't mean-" he started but I cut him off.
"It's fine just tell me once we are past it" I told him and a little while later he told me.
I sighed and sunk into my seat, holding on tight to trolls plushy. Doing that only made me remember my favorite that my momma got me, Bryan. I miss him and the others but mostly him.
"Daddy I want one of my old bears" I told him making him furrow his eyebrows.
"From your mom?" He asked and I nodded.
"I don't know how to get you that princess, I'm sorry" he told me making me nod and look out of the window.
I know daddy tries to make me happy and make me forget somethings but I can't forget them. They only happened a little while ago and the pictures stay in my mind when I think about them.
I thank him for trying because it can't be easy especially since he's hurt to. But he still tries and that shows how much he loves me.
