it was your birthday when draco gave you the ring, completely shocking you since draco let no one touch his rings.

and when you mean no one, you mean no one.

even vincent crabbe, draco's close friend he's known since first year wasn't allowed to touch them. but that could just be because the boy eats 24/7 and always has some condiment on his fingers.

"draco, i can't take this-" you tried saying but were cut off by the boy slipping the ring onto your finger.

"look it fits perfectly" he smiled, a blush taking over your face as you nodded in agreement.

it did fit perfectly.

but it wasn't just some random ring he had bought, it was his ring. a ring he was gifted during his fifth year, but of course enchanted with magic so it grew to accommodate his fingers size.

he didn't want some random store bought ring for you, he wanted something special. a ring that would remind you of him every time you looked at it.

not to mention he also enchanted the ring to cool you down whenever you were stressed, knowing every time you got worked up your body would heat up.

it was the little things draco remembered about you.

so when you woke up one day with the ring gone, you freaked.

you didn't know how it disappeared, you went to bed every night with it on and every morning you woke up with it still there. so why did it suddenly decide to fall off your finger while you slept?

but the worst part was that you couldn't find it anywhere. you practically flipped your bed upside down looking for it, but it was useless.

it was gone.

"i don't understand why snape would assign that" pansy parkinson and daphne greengrass had just gotten back from breakfast to see your side of the room totally trashed.

"i mean he always- merlin's beard, y/n! what happened?!"

your head snapped up from where you were looking to stare blankly at the girls, tears threatening to spill as you shook your head.

"i-i lost draco's ring."

daphne's face feel as pansy's mouth opened to an 'o,' the two girls knowing how much that ring meant to you, not to mention how you practically guarded it with your life.

"it has to be in here somewhere- you went to sleep with it, right?" pansy asked, daphne and her starting to pick up your clothes that were thrown everywhere.

"i...i think" you mumbled, your brain fuzzy as you started to second guess yourself.

maybe you didn't go to sleep with it. maybe you lost it sometime yesterday during classes or lunch.

"you think?"

"i don't know!" you exclaimed, explaining to the girls that you don't remember when you lost it.

"okay well..." pansy thought for a second before suggesting, "you go retrace your steps and we'll look around your bed."

your eyes widened as you sputtered out a, "really?"
