You let out a deep breath that you had been holding in for what felt like the whole holidays. Not that you didn't have a good holiday, it was quite enjoyable, but Hogwarts was and always will be your home. You were going into your sixth year at Hogwarts and were proud to say you were sorted into the house of Slytherin. You walked onto the train and started walking to the compartment your friends and boyfriend sat in every year. You went over and found it empty, so you sat in it, looking out the window as you waited for someone to show up. The first person to show up was your boyfriend Draco.

"Draco." You exclaimed standing up to hug him. He was quite stiff as you gave him a tight hug. He gave a little smile, but nothing too big. You weren't really expecting much different, although Draco was the best boyfriend ever (according to your bias opinion), he never really liked to show affection in public, but in private, Draco could be a sweetheart. If he wanted to be. He sat down and quietly asked how your holidays were. You and Draco did meet up during the holidays quite often, but it had been a few weeks since you last saw each other.

You started telling Draco about what you had done since the time you last saw him and now as the rest of your friends appeared and sat down with you. You, Draco, Pansy, Blaise, Crabbe and Goyle all sat in the compartment, talking happily about your holidays. You noticed Draco was very quiet during the conversation and was quite quick when he left for the Prefects meeting. Deciding not to bring this up in front of your friends, you continued talking about your holidays.

You eventually arrived at Hogwarts, but Draco insisted on staying back on the train by himself. Knowing he could sometimes produce a quick temper, you let him be and made your way to the castle.

You found a seat in the Great Hall and saved a spot next to you for Draco, hoping you could get a chance to talk to him quietly about what is wrong. You hoped you could arrange to meet at the Astronomy Tower tonight so you could talk about it more in private.

While the students talked cheerily, catching up with the people they haven't seen since the end of the last year, you noticed the Great Hall doors opening and your boyfriend walking in.

It was now that he was in the light that you could see just how skinny he had become over the holidays. Draco has always been quite skinny and tall, but he looked sickly. Although his face has always been quite pale, it seemed to be more pale than usual, if that was even possible. The bags on his eyes were on full display and it looked as though Draco was seriously ill. He had a slight frown on his face and didn't seem like the outgoing Draco you usually knew. You sat up a bit as you waited for him to sit next to you, but unexpectedly he sat on the opposite side of you about five seats down.

You looked down and furrowed your eyebrows together, hoping no one realised you had saved Draco a seat. Why hadn't he sat next to you? He had seen you and you smiled at him, he would have obviously seen the spare seat next to you.

"Didn't you save that seat next to you for Draco? Why didn't he sit next to you?" Pansy Parkinson asked from the seat on the opposite side of you. Pansy had always been a bit jealous of you and Draco's relationship, but you could still have civilised conversations with her about it.

"Uh, yeah I did, I don't know maybe he didn't see it." You replied quickly, shrugging your shoulders. You were very quiet during dinner and couldn't wait to go back to your dormitory.

After dinner was finished you and Pansy started walking to the Slytherin Common Room, the boys walking a fair distance behind you. Pansy was talking about her summer holidays, but your thoughts couldn't help but wonder off to Draco. Was he avoiding you?
