Thankyouuuuu

FIRST PERSON P.O.V.

I didn't notice at first but when I did, Merlin, did I find it strange–and not in a good way; I almost wish I could reclaim my obliviousness. Note: I said almost, but not quite.

After many restless nights just thinking about Pansy's odd behavior lately, I was able to rack my brain enough to hopefully pinpoint when, exactly, it had started, and I was able to go as far as recalling an instance last September. We had just come back from break and were on the Hogwarts Express.

Cheerily, I greeted everyone in the compartment. 'Everyone' was composed of Pansy Parkinson, Blaise Zabini, and my long-term best friend–Draco Malfoy. Where Crabbe and Goyle were at that moment was beyond what I could care to even think about giving a second thought about.

Since Pansy occupied my regular spot, which was the seat next to Draco, I plopped down on the empty spot beside Blaise, who took notice of the small box I held in my hands.

"What, pray tell, is in that?"

I turned to him with a grin on my face. "Cookies!"

Draco chuckled, and I could not help but giggle along.

Pansy was being uncharacteristically quiet, but I thought nothing of it.

Leaning forward to Draco, I held a cookie out towards him. "Want one?"

He merely raised a brow.

"I baked it myself! Just like when we were little."

"No thanks, Y/N."

I rolled my eyes and moved closer to him. I had no intention of letting him miss out on tasting my delicious treats. I was so proud of them.

"Oh, come on. You used to love it! I can vouch for this being no different."

Every time he declined my offer, I'd inch closer to him before threatening to hand-feed him myself. This prompted both Draco and I to erupt into fits of laughter as he repeatedly attempted to dodge my hand holding the cookie.

Eventually, our laughter died down, and Draco ended up taking a bite. He followed this action by snatching the cookie I held in my hand for him and stealing the small box I was previously holding.

Some time later (Draco had already finished the last of my cookies), Pansy pulled out a chocolate frog, and she tried offering it to Draco.

He declined, saying that he was stuffed with enough sweets to last him for the rest of the day.

Pansy wasn't having it. She tried getting the frog into his mouth, and she was giggling but her eyes looked frustrated. Meanwhile, Draco was bothered and just plain annoyed.

I could tell that he wanted her to stop, so I spoke on behalf of him. "Pansy, I don't think he's really feeling up for some chocolate right now."

She abruptly stopped her actions and huffed, stood up, and shuffled out of the compartment, dropping the box of the chocolate frog on her seat as she went.
