The next day I woke up and saw Levi missing from his bed.

I slowly got up and started getting ready for my day. Brushing my teeth, rinsing my face, and changing into some casual clothes. I wasn't assigned a uniform, so I kept my outfit comfortable.

As I walked into the kitchen area, the boys were sitting around waiting to eat breakfast.

"The girls went to go find more food, we're all starving. They've been gone forever!" Jean was pacing around the table.

"I don't get why you guys trusted Sasha to go with them. She's going to eat all of the food before it even gets here." Connie was slumped over the table.

These boys are really going crazy over not having food.

Levi was over the stove boiling water.

"Hey Captain, why did the new girl get to sleep in your room? That's not fair." Jean winked at me and we both started laughing.

Levi scoffed.

"Why don't you mind your business."

"Captain has a crush guys, leave him alone!" Connie walked up to Levi and put his arm around his shoulder like they'd been friends forever. "I got you, Captain. Also, if you ever need advice about women, I'm the best person to come to."

"Connie, you're probably the worst option out of all of us." Eren joined into the conversation.

"At least I have some experience, unlike you guys!"

Eren walked up to Jean and flicked his forehead, "Jean has zero experience in talking to women. He freezes when Mikasa enters the room."

"No I don-" Jean stopped his sentence as all the girls walked into the room.

Connie and Eren started laughing so hard they fell onto the floor, proving the point they just made.

I sat down at the table and took out the book I've been meaning to read. We don't have much planned for today.

They were going to be running experiments with Eren's Titan powers and I had no use for them there. Back on Marley, they knew very little about the Attack Titan. They knew of its existence and nothing more.

The host was always in hiding.

As I was deep in thought while reading my book, Historia sat next to me.

"Here, I brought you some bread and crackers." She placed the food in front of me along with a bottle filled with water. She looked at me with her kind eyes and smiled.

We both ate together and talked about how much we enjoyed reading.

Levi sat across from us and sipped on his tea.

Historia was talking about a book that she loved, but I spaced out after a little.

I was watching Levi place the tea cup to his soft lips. In between sips, he would slowly circle the inner rim of the cup with his middle finger. At one point, he looked at me while doing it.

My face flushed with red and I looked back down at the table and I swear I heard him chuckle.

What a tease.

"The book was so old! I misplaced it a long time ago. I wish I still had it, so you could borrow it."

Oh right, she's still talking.

I smiled at her, "Thanks Historia, I really hope that one day I come across it."

She excused herself from the table to go find Mikasa. They were going to watch Eren's experiments with Hange.

I was going to excuse myself to go find something to do, but Levi gently grabbed my hand.

"Let's go for a walk."

"Aren't you going to watch the experiment's?"

He let go of my hand and walked towards the front door.

"He has a crowd already."

I followed him quietly and we walked deep into the tall trees that surrounded.

There was a small lake and beautiful purple flowers that lined up along the edges of the water. The tree's smelled like fresh moss and cedar.

You could hear the birds singing to each other in harmony. A soft breeze flowed through my hair and tickled my ears.

"This place is so surreal. I love the outdoors. Do you love it too, Levi?"

Levi's eyes grew wide, like no one had ever asked him what he liked. He stayed quiet and only soaked in the sun.

I took his wrist and plopped on the grass, dragging him down with me. I laid my head down to look up at the sky and the top of the trees that were covered above.

As I was admiring the sky, I saw Levi turn his head to watch me. I don't know if he knew I could see him, but he had a soft look on his face. He then turned his head back up to look at the same view as me.

"Yeah, I guess I do love it here." He spoke softly.

We laid in the sun for a little while longer until we eventually had to go back.

I wish we could have stayed there forever.

When we got back, Levi made everyone tea as we settled in for the night.

I was talking to Eren about his day and even though he told me he was more than grateful for his opportunity with the Scouts and saving humanity, there was something about him that I couldn't figure out.

"I think you're doing a great job at protecting your friends and protecting humanity." I spoke to Eren. Having conversations with him was nice as I didn't do it often.

"I'm trying my best, some days just get hard. Experiments take a toll on my body, but i'm determined to see it through til the end!" He responded.

I talked to him more about his home life and growing up. He went on for minutes telling me stories about his childhood and his friends.

He smiled and thanked me for my kindness. I stood up to head to bed, but before I could leave the room he called my name.

"(Y/N)..."

"Yes?"

"Thank you for everything. This talk meant a lot to me."

"It's really no problem, Eren."

He had a sad expression on his face again. Immediately, his eyes filled with tears and he looked at me and said, "You just remind me of someone that was very important to me."

The next day came fast. When I woke up in the morning, Levi was gone just like the morning before. It's almost like that guy never rests.

He left a note saying that him and the rest of the Scouts went to go join Hange in their experiments.

I got ready for my day again, ate some bread, and headed outside. I walked towards that spot that Levi had taken me too yesterday.

I sat in the grass and started writing in my diary.

I have found peace where I am.

I look forward to waking up everyday, knowing that I am free to make my own choices

I do miss being back on Marley, but being here with him makes everything worth it

Keeping this secret is weighing down on me though,

I don't like what's to come, but I'll enjoy it nonetheless
