Flashback

"Hey, (y/n)! Look what I got us!"

"Uh- what is it?"

The small blonde boy handed me two cold cones.

"It's called ice cream. Mr. Ksaver bought some for me to try and it's so good! I had to bring you some."

I put the cold dessert to my mouth, "You're right, Zeke. This does taste good!"

We both laughed and enjoyed the sweet treat together.

"(Y/N), I know we're still kids, but do you think you and I would get married one day?"

"Zeke..."

Just as I was going to answer him, two warrior trainees walked up to us on the park bench.

"What the hell do you wimps have to laugh about?" A younger boy approached us.

"You guys are the weakest in the warrior training, why do you guys even come anymore?" Another kid chimed in.

One of the boys slapped the ice cream boy out of my hand and it dropped to the floor. Spilling the dessert onto the floor.

"Good one!" They held their stomachs in laughter and walked away.

Zeke turned his head towards me and tried to comfort me as I silently sobbed.

"It's okay, (y/n)," He extended his hand and offered me his ice cream cone, "I promise I'll always protect you. When I'm older and stronger, I'll be able to protect you even more."

It all ended in what felt like a split-second. Levi had taken down Zeke.

The Colossal and the Armored had both fallen.

Just as things seemed to have settled, Pieck swooped Zeke from Levi's grasped.

I rushed across the wall as I saw the two of them headed towards the inside.

Levi tailed them close behind.

I pulled out my two swords as I approached them, "Zeke! You bastard! You promised!"

Pieck climbed the wall and dropped to the closest house on the ground.

I followed them from behind and I landed on the same house that Eren was on.

Next to him was a burnt body, unrecognizable and Bertholdt was knocked out with no limbs.

Zeke and I met face to face. With both swords still in my hand, I stood in front of Eren to protect him.

"You told me you wouldn't hurt Levi! Everything you said, I stupidly trusted you! Now look at us, Zeke. Enemies."

"I was still planning to save you by the way! I was going to tell them that you were dead when we got here," Zeke wailed in pain from his injuries.

"Stop doing me favors you asshole. I don't need your help."

"Oh you don't? So what's your plan, huh? Stay here in Paradis and get killed when everything goes to shit? Don't tell me you're that stupid."

"What I plan to do is none of your concern."

Zeke turned his attention to Eren, "I found you. Eren Yeager, right? You don't look a thing like your father."

Eren gasped, "What?"

"Believe me, Eren. I get it. I know how you feel. The both of us are just victims of your father. I'm sorry, but he's brainwashed you."

"What're you talking about?"

I snapped my head up to see Levi standing on top of the wall.

He was looking down at Zeke with hate in his eyes.

Zeke caught the direction of my stare, "You're kidding. He chased me all this way? What a monster. Let's call it a draw, Levi. We're in no shape to fight now."

He shifted his attention back to us, "Bertholdt. I'm sorry, but this is the end for you."

Before deciding to retreat, Zeke looked at me with disgusted eyes, "I have no energy to fight Levi now, but I'll make him hurt like hell."

What is he talking about?

"Pieck, now!"

"What-" Pieck chomped my lower body and held her bite on my body to make sure I wouldn't slip out.

I screamed at the pain.

I couldn't wiggle out of her grip.

"Eren. Someday, I'll come back and save you from this."

Levi had just made it to the ground, but Pieck fled the scene before he could catch up.

Taking me away from Levi.

Erwins words replayed in my head, "Just plan to stay alive. Whatever you do, don't leave him by himself."

Before I could think of anything else, he was already out of my sight.
