"I'm glad you haven't decided to put up a fight yet, I'm actually surprised," Zeke took another puff of his cigarette and crouched down to meet me at eye level.
My knees were starting to hurt from being in the dirt.
Bertholdt and Reiner weren't making eye contact with me because I knew they felt guilty.
"Don't tell me Marley's strongest female soldier has gone soft now?"
"What the fuck do you want, Zeke?"
"She finally speaks," Zeke gestured to Bertholdt and Reiner to leave.
They walked far enough away to where they wouldn't be able to hear the conversation between Zeke and I.
"So Zeke, I never thought you'd confess your love for me in such a cruel way. I mean, you've always been jealous of Porco haven't you?"
Zeke chuckled, "I guess I was jealous, he had the girl I wanted. Now look at you, (y/n)," He used his index finger to pull your chin up.
"You've fallen in love with a devil, tisk tisk."
"Is this really what you wanted to talk about?"
"No, actually. I want to be your ally," Zeke stood up and pulled you up along with him. "Let's walk, yeah?"
We were inside Wall Maria. It was completely abandoned. The smells was rancid from the debris and mold that resided in the empty homes.
"This is where I was told my father lived with his new family. I don't know anything else," Zeke had on a straight face.
I stopped in place, "Cut the shit Zeke. I don't care about your sad backstory. Why do you want me here?"
He sighed and placed his hand on my shoulder, turning my body to face him, "The Marleyan army knows about your secret double life here. They've been spying on you and ordered for all of us to kill you."
My eyes grew wide.
So if they knew, why am I not dead yet?
"You must be thinking 'why am I not dead yet,' right?"
Fucking mind reader.
"It's because I'm willing to spare your life in exchange for your cooperation," Zeke pulled out another cigarette and lit it.
"Cooperation in what?"
"My plan. I won't tell you what it is yet, but you need to agree to help me when the time comes."
"Why would I agree to something that I know nothing about?"
"Because Miss (y/n), if you don't I'll kill you."
I was perfectly fine with being killed right now. I didn't have a family, I worked for a corrupt army, I hated the way Eldians were treated.
Out of all the million reasons I wanted to die, there was one that would overpower all of those.
Levi.
"I'll do whatever you want, just don't hurt him." I looked down at my feet.
Admitting my love for someone was hard, especially to someone who wanted nothing more than to ruin my life.
Zeke was ruthless, but he knew how to get what he wanted.
"I knew you'd say that," He took another long puff of smoke before putting it out in the dirt, "So, this Ackerman you're dating. I hear he's one tough motherfucker."
He laughed to himself.
"We'll see how strong he is soon enough, don't do anything to stop us. I know they're coming to take back the Wall. It's going to be our chance to retrieve the Founding."
"How will you know if I go snitch and ruin your whole plan? Just because I'm your ally doesn't mean I'll surrender to Marley again."
My blood was boiling with anger. Zeke threatened Levi, what makes him think I won't go warn all of them?
But then again if I do, I'll have to tell them everything. Everything.
Zeke tried to kick my feet down, but I immediately jumped back. I pulled his face down and slammed his dirty face into my knees, making him fall to the ground.
I pulled out my knife and put it to his throat.
"What the fuck, Zeke! Don't say you need my help then try to fight me. You know I'll win, I always beat you in combat."
He turned his face and spit on me. "But I always beat you in logical fights. I may not win against you in combat, but the moment you let your guard down, I could kill you in an instant. Don't forget that."
I cut a small slit into his throat, I know this won't kill him, but it'll hurt like hell.
"Isn't the Founding titan your biological brother? Why do you want it so bad? Need a family reunion? I know you could care less about Marleyan's and their bullshit agenda with the titans. So why do YOU need it, Zeke?"
"Because I fucking do, alright! Don't forget I can kill you right now. I'll take you and Levi out sounds fun, right?"
"He has nothing to do with this, stay away from him." I stood up and gave a hard kick to Zeke's crotch.
I started running back towards the Wall, to where Reiner and Bertholdt were.
I saw Reiner running towards me.
"I'm sorry, (y/n). I really am. I didn't want to tell them about what I found, but I had to. My family could have been killed if I didn't"
"Reiner. What do you mean? Did you tell Commander Magath and the General about my life here?"
He stayed quiet. He thought Zeke had told me that he was the one who ratted me out.
I didn't have time to waste. I needed to go back to Levi. These men were no longer my comrades and I needed to forget about them.
As I started to make my way back, I turned around and saw Bertholdt running after me.
I stopped. I know that he won't hurt me. He only does things he's ordered to do. He doesn't like hurting people on his own free will.
"(Y/N)! Wait," He was panting from running and put his hands on his knees.
Holy shit, does everyone need to confess something to me?
He looked up to me, "You can stay in Wall Rose with the others, just be safe and stay out of the fight. Okay? I care about you. Hell, I care about all of you in a sick way. Just- promise me to stay safe."
I just turned around and kept walking.
I need to figure out what I'm going to do. What am I gonna tell Levi when I see him?
I didn't go to bed with him last night, instead I went missing. He's gonna be worried.
Tears rapidly streamed down my face.
I know what I need to do.
I need to tell him everything, even if he'll hate me afterwards.
