chapter 9

It's been three days that I've been home and I have yet to see Porco. 

He's been in meetings with the Commander since we got back. All of the warriors were allowed in the meeting except for me. Which, I understand. 

I spent my days training the young soldiers in the blazing heat. We practiced shooting, combat, and defensive techniques. 

Things were feeling pretty okay, for now.

I couldn't help but to think about Levi every now and then. His soft voice would replay in my head like a beautiful melody I never wanted to forget. 

As far as I know, I wouldn't be getting sent back. So, there would be no reason to think about him anymore. I'll soon forget his cold steel colored eyes and he'll forget mine. 

Being back on Marley was such a bittersweet feeling. It felt like a recognizable place, but it didn't feel like home at all. Maybe I was just in over my head because I've been gone for so long, but my chest aches everytime I remembered the sweet man back on the Island.

(Porco POV)

It's been three days that (y/n) has got back home, but I haven't been able to see her. 

My days have been packed with meetings with the military commanders in regards to Paradis and when we plan on attacking. 

Things have been going back and forth between sending the warriors back or just implementing a full surprise attack. 

After all of the long meetings, no one has said anything about Marcel. 

They did mention that Annie was still on the island and crystalized so, I figured Marcel was also in some sort of trouble. 

Today, the Commander Magath and General Calvi have requested for me to have a meeting with them.  

I walk into the meeting room and I notice there's a brunette freckled woman sitting at the table as well. I've never seen this woman before, so I'm not sure why she's here. She's silent and has her head down. I noticed that she's also handcuffed. 

"To start off this meeting I would like to introduce this woman from Paradis, Ymir. She has no information on her last name." Commander Magath gestured his hand towards the freckled girl. 

He continued, "This woman is from a Marleyan city and has obtained the name Ymir after becoming a false idol to the Eldian people. She was sent to Paradis after committing countless crimes. While on Paradis, she had come across the four warriors. Marcel was eaten by Ymir and she then obtained his titan abilities."

I felt my hands trembling. This woman killed my brother. As angry as I was, she was a mindless titan. The only people to blame, would be the ones who were supposed to protect him. 

"She has surrendered herself and is giving back the power of the Jaw titan. Porco Galliard will obtain the Jaw titan in exactly a week. Afterwards, he will be immediately sent to training to control his titan powers. Are there any objections with this plan?" 

I was about to lose my life. I didn't plan on getting the power of the titans at all. There are so many things I wanted to do and so many things I wanted to see.

A family. Kids. I wanted to marry (y/n) still. 

All I could think about is her.

How am I going to be able to tell her this? 

I devoted my life to be a soldier for Marley and I know that I need to keep my word here. There's nothing I can do anymore. My life belongs to them.
