I stood up from the table and walked back to my room.

I closed the door and locked it. I didn't make it far in before I completely broke down.

I cupped my mouth to muffle my crying.

This feeling. This is all my fault.

I let someone important to me get hurt because I wanted to be selfish. He doesn't deserve this.

I laid on the floor to calm myself down.

Sometimes, having an emotional breakdown is good for the heart. It just hurts.

As I laid on the floor trying to gain my composure, someone knocked on the door.

"Hey, it's Eren. You okay?"

I got up from the floor and walked to the door.

After taking a deep breath I opened the door to a brunette boy standing there with a concerned look on his face.

Without asking any questions, he wrapped me in a warm embrace.

I sniffled into his shoulder and he caressed my head to let me know, 'it's going to be okay.'

We exchanged no words.

I gently pushed him back, "I'll be okay. I need to meet with Erwin, excuse me."

He'll soon find out where I'm from and he too will have doubt in my true intentions.

I'll be alone for a very long time. Maybe for the rest of my life.

I betrayed Pieck. I betrayed my friends here. Erwin, Eren, and Levi.

The next week was spent preparing for our mission to retake Wall Maria.

I still hadn't talked to Levi.

I'd be closely working in headquarters by Erwins side planning the trip.

Levi and the others have been running tests on Erens hardening ability.

According to what I've been hearing, it's been hard for him some days. He overuses his power sometimes and it takes a toll on his frail body.

Eren is a tough guy, but there's only so much he can handle.

Today, there's going to be a meeting. Since I have to stay by Erwins side, I'll also be attending.

Hange, Zachary, Pyxis, and Levi will also be there.

It'll be the first time I've seen him since he left the room that day.

Erwin and I walked into the meeting room.

Hange and Pyxis lifted their heads and greeted us when we walked in. Levi didn't move a muscle.

On the table in front of us was a small black box with a needle and a syringe.

I knew what this was. How did they get this?

Premier Zachary walked in, "Looks like I'm late, sorry." He walked in the middle of the room to meet us at the table. "Have any luck? Were you able to establish what's in the container?"

"We have a vague idea, but unfortunately with our technology we can't dig any deeper," Hange explained.

They continued, "Like we've heard from Eren and Historia, it seems to originate from some sort of human body fluid."
