'Kazuki!' Wisteria screeched, 'Do something!'

'I can't! Even if I could resume time – if I could – that hole will close with them in it!'

'Argh!'

Wisteria frantically paced up and down. 'I don't care about Mr. "You Can Call Me God." But we have to get Laila out!'

'Please...'

Amber was stunned and utterly defeated on the floor. It was reminiscent of the moment Leon was overcome by Eternatus.

'Someone... please... help Jamie.'

Kazuki grimaced. 'We have to snag that Celebi!'

Wisteria was about to snatch the Snag Machine that Kazuki borrowed from Amethyst, but someone shoved past her.

'Fuck it!'

Horace's Shadow Charizard took off. It screeched and flailed uncontrollably as it reached the tear. It didn't want to go inside. As it tried to turn, Horace jumped. He was gone. His Charizard flew away, accelerating until it was out of sight. Carlos blinked.

'If Wes was ever gonna forgive me... he sure ain't now.'

That stunned Wisteria as much as Jamie dropping into the warp space.

'I can't believe he just... did that.'

'They were friends. Drinking buddies. They had a business deal over those Shadow Pokémon. Horace can see them. But this last year... Jamie's lost his mind.'

In normal circumstances, everyone present might have glowered and questioned Carlos about why in the world they never alerted anyone to Cipher's revival or GoD's identity. They barely heard him. Wisteria glanced at Kazuki.

'That thing about thoughts and fears manifesting in there... is it gonna get heavier every time someone new goes in? I sure wouldn't want to see the inside of the Hozzinator's head...'

'I don't know, to be honest. That's beyond what physics can explain.'

Aiko turned to Carlos. 'Is Horace strong enough to take on Jamie and XD008 with Laila? And... whatever else might be in there?'

'Yeah. He does sell that shitty food, but it's true... he's really a bounty hunter. He learned from me. Now he travels all over the continent, taking on some of the hardest crooks for the rewards. He can handle Jamie.'

'It's not Jamie I'm worried about,' Kazuki said, 'Horace is clearly troubled. He's gonna have his own battle to fight in there...'

Carlos reached for his Garchomp's Poké Ball, because he was too old to cling on to his Honchkrow, but Wisteria slapped it from his hand.

'We don't need two of you in there. Least of all a 102 year-old. Aiko, Holly, Kazuki – and Carlos, I guess – can you keep Cipher away from the colosseum? And take care of Amber?'

That was a heavy question. If Cipher attacked, hoping to oust Jamie by closing the hole, but Wisteria went in and they couldn't keep Cipher away; they would also lose her, Laila and Horace.

She wasn't patient. Long before she was even close to receiving a reply, she climbed onto Altaria's back. As she was swallowed by the pulsing tear, her bag thudded to the floor, along with her remaining Pokémon. That sent chills down the spines of all who saw it.

'Fuck...'

Wisteria found herself in that same freefall as Laila. She didn't, however, forget that she entered the space on Altaria's back.
