Guys there is an extremely cringy scene in this chapter so please abeg. POWER THROUGH IT!!

The room was silent, aside from the light scraping of the utensils against the plates. Glancing around the room Riley took a sip of his orange juice before placing the glass back on the table.

"So, James how has the marriage life been treating you?"

Marissa spoke up, finally tired of the uncomfortable silence that was frankly ruining her appetite.

"Oh, it's been wonderful. Rachel is amazing"

"Oh and have you guys thought about kids?"

"For god's sake Marissa, they've only been married for a day"

Her husband sighed.

"Umm, are you forgetting that I had Landon and Logan two days after our wedding? We didn't even make it to our honeymoon"

"Speaking of honeymoon, when are you guys leaving?"

Beth finally spoke up, knowing their parents emotions were still high after the intense argument they got into that very morning.

"I have to settle some things at work, but we'll be gone by the end of the week"

"Yes, I can't wait. Your uncle won't tell ne where we're going and I'm going absolutely crazy"

She laughed heartily earning a grimace from Riley who was watching her from the corner of his eye.

Everytime he looked at his uncle, guilt spread through him like a wild fire.Though he didn't have a good relationship with the man it was obvious that James loved and adored his wife, but did she love him?

"That's so romantic" Beth awed.

"Absolutely, I hope when I decide to pop the question Michelle and I will be just like you guys"

"How is Michelle?" His mother asked, a smile overtaking her features at the mere mention of her son's girl friend.

"Honestly mom, she's perfect"

"That's great, I'm glad you have someone like that"

"What about you Riley?"

"Hmm?"
Said boy glanced around the room, now seeing that all eyes were on him.

Rachel smiled and repeated her question.

"Do you have a special someone?"

"N-no"

"That's too ba-"

"Not yet anyways" Beth chuckled.

"Oh, is there someone in the running?" The red head queried, eyes blazing with emotion.

"No, th-"

"There most definitely is"

Beth, please shut up. Riley pleaded silently already feeling the woman's hands closing around his nimble throat, holding him in a death grip.

"Who's the lucky girl?"

"I'm sure you know Riley's gay" Logan stated almost rolling his eyes.

"Right, of course. Who's the lucky guy?"

Just then the familiar Micky Mouse theme song caught everyone's attention.

Glad for the distraction he answered the phone without hesitation.

"H-hello?"

"Riley, why is the phone at your ear, do you not know how video calls work?"

Nikolai's voice held amusement surprising everyone in the room who could hear him clearly.
