He chewed on the flesh of his bottom lip and fiddled with the end of his pink skirt nervously as they drew closer and closer to the desired destination.
Riley had been to Nikolai's house before, but this time felt different. He was going to be spending the entire weekend.
With the help of Hailey, who had taken the news of his involvement in the ddlb community really well, he had packed all the necessary items and was on his way to the older's house.
As the car came to a stop, he made sure to steer clear of the door, not wanting a repeat of the last time he was here and it was lucky that he did because the car door swung open only moments later
He thanked the driver before turning to gaze at the familiar face.
"Hi"
He breathed and Nikolai's lips quirked upwards slightly.
"Hey, you look adorable"
"T-thank you"
"You're welcome, come on in"
He was led inside and up the stairs.
"I'll show you to your room first then I want to talk to you over lunch"
Riley nodded in response, not being able to speak as the nerves were getting to him.
"What's wrong?"
He hadn't even noticed that they had stopped in front of a door until Nikolai's worried voice called out to him. His breathing was slightly uneven and he was shaking.
"I-I'm sorry"
The intoxicating smell surrounded him flooding his senses and bringing an instant calm to his chaotic mind. It took a moment for him to realize that Nikolai had pulled him into a hug, but when he did the blinde sighed in contentment.
"Don't apologize"
"Wh-whenever I get too nervous I tend to overthink and trigger a panic attack"
"It's okay bub"
"Thank you"
He took a deep breath and settled even more into the older's torso, not wanting the moment to end.
Sadly, Nikolai pulled away seconds later and opened the door.
Riley's mouth almost dropped to the floor when he saw the interior. It was light blue and yellow themed with stars all over the ceiling.
The room was obviously divided in two with the right side having a queen sized bed, a vanity mirror, a bedside table and a door that led to an interior closet.
On the other side was an adult sized crib, a desk and a door leading to the bathroom. There were other things like a rocking chair, a single sofa and a desk in the room.
On the entire floor was the fluffiest carpet Riley had ever seen and he briefly wondered if Nikolai would mind if he slept there instead.
"T-this is-"
His eyes were immediately drawn to the two stuffies in the crib and he glanced up at Nikolai silently asking for permission.
"Go ahead"
He wasted no time, amd in a milli second he held the two large sea creatures in his hands
"I remembered you didn't have any dolphin stuffies"
"Oh my God, thank you, thank you, thank you"
Riley squealed unable to hide his excitement.
"You're welcome, what are you going to name them?"
The older queried, not missing the childish glint in the blonde's eyes indicating he was slipping into his headspace already.
