His eyes shot open and he wasted no time getting to his feet and running to the bathroom.
Nikolai was alerted as soon as the small body left his and he followed the sound of retching in the bathroom.
Riley threw up again and again before finally settling in a crouched position on the ground.
The older stooped to his level and rubbed his back whilst whispering soothing words.
"I-I'm sorry"
The blonde sniffled.
"Shh, we'll talk about it later"
After making sure nothing else was coming up Nikolai lifted the boy and took him back to bed.
"Take this"
He took the glass of water and downed it along with two pills to soothe the massive headache he was sporting.
"I'm sorry"
"I said we'll talk about it later"
"But y-you're mad at me"
"I'm not mad at you Riley"
"Then you're disappointed"
"Of course I am"
He whimpered at the frosty tone that was used.
It was never his intention to make Nikolai upset he had only planned to go on a simple picnic with his friend. Who would have thought it would turn out like this?
"I'm sorry"
"Stop apologizing, when you feel better we will sort this out until then let's drop the subject"
"How's Emily?"
"I imagine she's in a similar state, Drew was really upset so I can only imagine what her punishment will be like in the morning"
"P-punishment, am I going to be punished as well?"
"Did you think you would get away with something this big?"
"No"
He pouted.
"Now, how about you get some more sleep it's only 11 p.m."
"Will you stay with me?"
"Of course love"
They cuddled once more and were asleep in minutes...

"Riley, do not yell in the house"
"Sowwy, your phone is ringing"
"Can you answer it?"
"Nuh uh"
Nikolai lowered the setting on the stove before trodding up the stairs and into his room.
"Who is it?"
"Uhh, Simms"
He maneuvered through the toys that were littered across the floor and to the little who was sitting in the midst of all the chaos.
Once he got the phone it had already stopped ringing and he frowned knowing Alfie only called when it was work related.
Luckily it started ringing once again and he answered without hesitation.
Riley played with his blocks whilst Nikolai spoke on the phone.
When he was done, a frown etched itself unto his face.
"Whas wong daddy?"
The little lisped walking up to the large man.
"I have to go away for a few days"
