Chapter 39.

With slumped shoulders Riley walked through the airport and followed Nikolai into the car.

After finding out about the cut on his finger, the older practically forbode him from ever cooking again. He had assured him that he wouldn't as cooking was never something he enjoyed doing.

Though he could it just wasn't his thing.

"Baby, stop pouting"

"I'm sorry daddy I can't help it, you'll be back to working on your club and you won't have time for me again"

They spent the last few days in New York together and the younger wasn't ready to share Nikolai with the rest of the world.

"Riley, don't I always make time for you?"

"Yes, but I want more" he whined.

"Now you're whining. You've been a good boy for the last few days, don't ruin it"

"Hmph"
The younger turned to look out the window, watching the buildings go by.

Nikolai reached over and grasped the little's chin between his thumb and forefinger, turning him back to face him.

"If you want to see me all you have to do is ask, okay? But spending hours at a time on a dangerous construction site is not something I could ever put you through. I would worry constantly"

He pulled his lower lip between his teeth chewing at it in frustration.

Riley knew his was being clingy and stubborn, but at the moment he didn't care. Being with Nikolai 24/7 for the past few days had been so amazing that he hoped they would stay like that forever.

He just wanted one more day, just one more to sate his craving for the older man.

Hesitantly the blonde nodded and Nikolai release him slowly only to place a large hand against his rosy cheek.

The older pulled him in for a sweet kiss, thag had his brain going fuzzy and every single nerve tingling blissfully.

He reached up and tangled his hands into the dark locks sitting just above the nape of Nikolai's neck, pulling on them ever so slightly.

The older in turn bit the blonde's lower lip sucking on it harshly before pulling away.

"Remember, you belong to me and I to you. I'm only a phone call away"

Riley could only nod as he was still trying to catch his breath. He placed his head against the solid chest and closed his eyes.

"I'm sorry"

"It's okay, baby I understand. When you're not with me I miss you like crazy as well"

"You do?"

"Of course, you're presence alone brings me peace and comfort. Why do you think I keep asking you not to leave me?"

"I thought it was because you loved me"
He joked with a light chuckle.

After not receiving a response Riley flushed in embarrassment thinking he had said something wrong. Blood pumped loudly in his ears and he stopped breathing just to ensure he wouldn't miss Nikolai's next words.

"That could also be the reason"

He sat up immediately looking meeting Nikolai's hooded gaze trying to figure out if he meant what he said.

The older wasn't easy to decipher; however, their was a genuine softness that presented itself boldly before the younger. As though Nikolai was trying to bear his soul simply through that one glance.
