Soft music filled the entire building, making the experience a lot better.
Though Riley clung to his lover's side he still took the time to glance around the beautifully lit room. The roof was high and in neat lines stood large, glass chandeliers that clinged melodically whenever they shifted even slightly.
The colour scheme used was gold and white, with flowers littering the tables and walkways.
In the centre stood a spacious dance floor and futher to the front there was a stage obviously for the host. Alongside the stage was a live band that played the most beautiful music he had heard in a while.
Currently the pianist recited a piece by Nico Cartisio and Riley hummed the tune softly, remembering it from one of his browsing days on youtube.
"-iley? Riley? Baby?"
"Hmm- yes daddy?"
He snapped out of his reverie at the sound of Nikolai's voice, immediately correcting himself when he noticed how he responded.
"The kind lady is talking to you"
Riley finally looked away from the older man and focused on the waitress who stood before them.
"If you will just follow me Mr. Cirillo, Mr. Frost, I will lead you to your seats"
As they made their way to the second table from the front, on the left of the dance floor he noted the abundance of people who were already seated.
There were famous business tycoons and moguls ready to spend heaps of money to show off their wealth.
Though they weren't late, most people had already arrived thus the younger had to force himself not to have a mental breakdown at the attention they were receiving.
After the initial magazine article which Nikolai had taken care of, not many people had actually seen him with the person alongside him in the photos.
When it was made known that he would not only be attending but also carrying a date everyone couldn't wait to catch a glimpse of the obvious power couple.
"You are doing so well baby I'm so proud of you"
Nikolai mumbled pulling Riley even closer and placing a kiss untop of his head.Eventually they arrived at the table.
"This is you, have a good evening"
She gave a small head tilt then walked away. There were twelve chairs per table two at both ends and four on each side. The two seats left for them were at the end facing the stage, placement cards sat on the plates indicating that was their assigned positions.
On their right sat Drew, Emily, Rachel and her husband James.
On the left was Alfie, Hailey, Logan and Beth.
Then on the other end sat Landon and Michelle.
"Good evening everyone"
Nikolai stated as he pulled out a chair for his lover.Their was a chorus of responses as well as a thank you from his baby.
"How did you guys drive so fast?"
Riley queried."Fast? You guys were just too slow" Hailey scoffed taking a sip of the wine in her glass.
She seemed a little on edge in Riley's eyes, but he decided not to dwell on it. If she wanted to say something she would, besides he was trying to figure out how he would manage sitting at the same table as Rachel without panicking.
The red head was clad in a glamorous green dress with gold drop earrings and a beautiful necklace to match.
Her red hair blended well with the colours and her make up was absolutely flawless, the only thing that ruined her image was the deep scowl that adorned her face whenever she glanced at Riley.
