A small whimper left his lips as he gazed at the man before him
"You need me don't you?"
Turning his head to the side, he clamped his lips shut trying so desperately to stop the words that wanted to come out.
"Just admit it, you'll feel a lot better...
"Yes" Nikolai sighed after responding to the same question for the millionth time.
"Maybe I should have gotten an extra one just to make sure"
"Yia-yia has one head, one hat is fine"
"Well, I should've gotten a bigger one"
"Her neck is old, the bones won't be able to support anything bigger" He responded immediately not taking his eyes off of the road.
"The one with the red band might have been nicer"
"She is not searching for the One Piece so this hat is perfectly fine. Darling stop worrying"
Nikolai reached over and placed a hand on his baby's thigh to calm him. Though the little had met his family before, he was still nervous.
"Everything is going to be okay, my family loves you and yia-yia would be happy even if you got her a mint"
Nodding, Riley fiddled with the end of his light pink dress before resigning to gaze out the window. Watching the trees and lush vegetation pass by.

As they arrived, they saw Noah and Amara exiting another car.
"Hi Riley, how are you doing?"
"I'm okay mama"
The younger had accidentally referred to Amara as such earlier in the morning and the woman loved it so much she practically begged him to keep using it. In her mind she had already adopted Riley.
The entire family did.
They held hands and walked in front of the brothers before knocking on the door. The party was most likely at the back, but due to how the place was set up, one had to walk through the house to get to the backyard.
Nadia answered the door in a beautiful sundress and white sandals. Even in such a simple attire she was simply breathtaking.
"Riley, Aunty Ama, Nik, Noah, it's so good to see you guys"
They chorused a response of pleasant greetings then made their way inside.
"Yia-yia is in the kitchen putting icing on the cupcakes, I have to get back outside to watch the kids" Nadia informed them before scurrying outside.
Noah went with her and the remaining three went to see the old woman carefully piping the icing on the homemade dessert.
Even at her age, yia-yia's hands were as steady as a surgeon's.
"Yia-yia" Amara smiled softly catching the other woman's attention. Though she didn't look up the old woman knew the voice of her daughter-in-law's voice.
"η κόρη μου" (My daughter)
She greeted whilst finishing up with the last cupcake.
After completing her task she finally looked up to see Nikolai and Riley as well; however, only one of the two got her immediate attention.
