A small whimper left his lips as he gazed at the man before him
"You need me don't you?"
Turning his head to the side, he clamped his lips shut trying so desperately to stop the words that wanted to come out.
"Just admit it, you'll feel a lot better...
"But I don't wanna go home" Riley whined kicking his feet and rolling around the floor.
The younger was having a full blown, grade A temper tantrum.
Paying him no attention Nikolai placed the last stuffie into the suitcase then closed it up.
He handed them to the crewmen who were doing their best not to gaze at the little one who was creating a scene.
His face was tear stricken and his oversized sweater was riding up his legs. He thrashed all over, kicking his limbs and wailing.
"Let me know when we've reached the port"
"Yes sir" They responded before leaving.
The older sat on the bed and watched his little carry on with his antics.
Riley had finally exhausted himself and lay on the floor, his breathing was ragged and sweat coated his body.
Tears were still running down his cheeks.
With a sigh Nikolai went over and picked him up. The younger wrapped his legs around his daddies waist and sobbed into his neck.
"Please don't take me home"
"Riley, we can't live out here, I'm sure your family misses you and I have to get back to work-"
At that he started wailing again.
Nikolai patted the little's back and rocked him gently.
"No, no, no, no, no!" He chanted, holding on even tighter.
"Baby you're going to cry yourself sick"
"I don't wanna go home, please don't make me I wanna stay here with you forever"
"Little one you have a court hearing to attend in 5 days we have to go back and pack, say goodbye to my family and then head home"
Through Nikolai's detective associate, Harry, they had been able to get through to a judge very quickly, now the hearing for the restraining order was coming up.
In the meantime his life back home is in shambles.
He had gotten a call from Landon just the night before stating that Rachel was "hurt by his accusations", after she received an ex parte.
The woman went crying to her husband who instantly took her side.
James went to his brother, Riley's father who was even more upset. They were blowing up his phone telling him to come home and drop the case. That he was ruining the family.
His mother was livid after hearing his side of the story and had moved out of the house with the rest of her kids.
"Daddy they hate me"
"They do not hate you honey"
"B-but I'm ruining the family" He sobbed pitifully into the older's neck.
"They ruined the family Riley, you have the right to protect yourself against a crazy woman who is clearly in need of therapy. I will not sit by and let anyone get away with threatening you"
Nodding he finally started to calm down.
"Can I stay at your house?"
"Of course darling. Now come on you need a bath"
In the next 30 minutes Riley was pulling on his chunky, white sneakers to finish off his outfit.
