Duet

Techno's apartment is weird. His bathroom is right beside the other person's bathroom. Sometimes they'd catch each other showering or taking a bath at the same time. Both figured the walls are thin because the both of them can hear each other. Techno would feel extremely awkward and just lays on the bathtub while listening to his neighbor talk about eating sands or anything that is not edible at all.

Slowly he got used to the other just talking about random stuff and meeting up other people he found on the internet. He mentioned being a Minecraft Player and a streamer in Twitch. Techno tried to ask what his username but it came off a mumble and this guy just continued talking.

He learned his name is Wilbur when Wilbur tried to make the conversation a two way instead of one sided by starting with introduction. Techno took deep breaths and built up a courage to raise his voice a bit and talked to Wilbur. Wilbur was patient and very kind to him. He did not peer pressure the man and just talked lightly.

Techno would listen to Wilbur's problems on bad days, took quick notes of what he likes before his adhd could erase those memories, and would lightly laugh at the corniest joke. Yes, he has a notepad beside his bathtub so he could write down anything important to Wilbur.

One day, Techno did not hear the water running on the other side. Usually Wilbur would be up early and start talking about his schedule or just say a good morning to Techno. Techno assumed Wilbur is still sleeping since it's a Saturday but it's strange.

Lunch came and he came to the bathroom and pressed his ear on the wall. No sound.

Night came and he came in the bathroom again with his ear pressed on the wall. Still nothing. This went on for a few more days before Techno got really worried for him and found himself knocking on Wilbur's door. Frantically.

The door creaks open and Techno sighs in relief. The both of them look at each other, checking each other out from head to toe and back to where their eyes meet. "Uh... Um... It's Technoblade. Wilbur right?"

Wilbur blinks and his eyes widen. He did not expect the man to be this beautiful with the hoarse and deep voice. "Ah yes. Yes, I am Wilbur. Is there something wrong?"

"No, no, no. No. Well, maybe. I just... Never heard of you for the past few days and got really worried." Awkward silence filled the air.

Wilbur can't believe Techno is worried for him and came to knock on his door with just his pajamas on and even on barefoot.

They stare at each other until Techno looks away and rubs the back of his neck. "I'm... I'm glad you're alright. I'll go back now."

"No, wait." Wilbur grabs his wrist and gently pulls the pink haired guy. "Can you...talk to me through the bathroom walls?" Technoblade hesitated but he nods. "Sure."

Technoblade got back in his apartment and sat down in his bathtub. He hears the bathroom door open and closed on the other side and a few clothes shuffling.

Silence.

Technoblade leans on the wall and knocks on it. He hears Wilbur knock back. Technoblade knocks with a good beat and Wilbur knocks with a rhythm. He hears Wilbur humming a tune and sings a song.

"How can you miss someone you've never met?" Started with a whisper to a little loud enough for Techno to hear.

"'Cause I need you now but I don't know you yet."

Techno takes a breath and whisper the next lines. "But can you find me soon because I'm in my head? Yeah, I need you now but I don't know you yet."

Wilbur giggles and taps on the wall. The both of them sing together. Wilbur sounds beautiful and has melancholy when he sings. Technoblade, on the other side, sounds blunt but he tries.

"I need you now but I don't know you yet. I need you now but I don't know you yet."

"Hey. My name is Wilbur Soot."

"Hello. My name's Technoblade."

"Be my someone?"

Technoblade chuckles and shakes his head. "Yeah. Whatever."

The next day, Wilbur visited Technoblade and hang out with him in his apartment. They would play Minecraft and one time Wilbur pressed the Live button on YouTube, exciting the fans since it's been forever Techno streamed. They didn't expect an unknown man speaking on the mic and playing Minecraft like a speedrunner.

Techno watched on the background and just silently laughed at the comments.

Technoblade would visit Wilbur too but only to listen to the British man sing his own songs. Sometimes Techno would help him with it then they would watch a random cliche love story in Netflix to kill the boredom.

A day where Wilbur was streaming Among us with his internet little brother, Technoblade walked in to give him food, he didn't know Wilbur's stream started. Both were glad the door is on the side rather than the normal view where the door is behind the streamer.

Wilbur's chat exploded when some of the people recognized the voice. They were yelling "Blood for the Blood God!" or spamming "E."

On the next week, Wilbur invited Technoblade to join Dream SMP. Technoblade took it and Wilbur was fast to steal Techno away from Dream or any other players.

Dream can't believe his idol just joined his SMP.

One night after lore stream, Technoblade sat in his bathtub full of warm water. He relaxes his shoulder and sighs in content when his whole body feels like in heaven. He hears the quiet knock on the other side and he knocks back. "Techno?"

"Yeah?"

Wilbur chuckles.

"Sing with me again?"

"...yeah."
