REALITY

previously: "okay so what the fuck just happened?!"

"i don't know... let's just not talk about it" i say.

"okay then..." i hear emma say.

"...well should we do presents now?" dixie says.

"yeah lets do that" josh says.

we move on from the situation and then go to presents. although, we were having a good time laughing and opening the numerous things they had gotten me. i was beyond grateful for them. i wouldn't have had such an amazing day. well, i guess nothing would've happened if it wasn't for josh. i owe him big time. he does so much for me.

"okay open mine first" dixie says.

"okay" i say.

she hands me a box and i rip the wrapping paper as anyone would. once the wrapping paper is off, i have a box to open. i open up the box and i see an assortment of things. the first thing i pull out of the box is a smaller package that was wrapped in similar paper that was around the whole box. i unwrap it and i see a book.as i flip through the pages of the book, i am remembered by all the memories we've shared over the course of our friendship. some from when we were younger, and some more recent.

"oh my gosh dix," i gush.

"i know you're a sucker for memory books and so i decided to make you one," she says.

"you know me so well, thank you," i say.

"okay okay, now open the other one. you'll like this one, it's even better," she says.

"okay" i say and then unwrap the other package in the larger box. i am met with an orange box notifying me exactly what she got me.

"dixie-" i start.

"-nope you can't complain. it's you're birthday and i wanted to buy you it," she says.

"fine," i say.

i open the box and pull out the item from the cloth bag. the present makes me gasp. it was a louis vuitton side bag.

"dixie you didn't need to get me both of these things," i say.

"well i did," she says.

"thank you, i love you," i say.

"and i love you. now who's next?" she says.

"me," emma says "here, open it."

i open the bag she had handed to me. there was a nike box inside of the bag meaning they were shoes. i didn't know why she would get me shoes until i realized.

"are these-" i start to say.

"-just open them," emma says.

i open the box to reveal the shoes i was just looking at yesterday. i didn't end up buying them because they were far too pricey. i guess when emma ran away, she purchased these.

"you were looking at them forever yesterday and i knew you weren't going to buy them for yourself, so i bought them. you like them?" she says.

"they're so sick," i say.

"i'm taking that as a yes," she says.

"mhm," i say.

"those are some sexy looking shoes," josh says.
